hey everyone, whats the difference between a MIM jazz, USA, jazz and standard jazz. they all look the same.
|
hey everyone, whats the difference between a MIM jazz, USA, jazz and standard jazz. they all look the same.
They are. Basically, Fender calculate your familie's income, and according to that they will only sell you a certain bass. So if you're rich, you're sold a USA jazz bass, if you're poor, a MIM. But they're all the same...  EDIT: Its just quality really. and MIM (Made in Mexico) is another word for Standard :thumb: American Jazz Basses have more options, like maple fretboards, etc. |

Mexicans are lower quality instruments (but they're still great). American are basically the top-notch Fender guitar, and it depends what you mean by standard; American Standard, or Mexican Standard. Standard is just the bass, and the basics of it, no ifs ands or buts. Passive pickups, 2 tones for the Jazz, and standard model specs. And of course, American basses cost more. |

Americans have optional colors, different woods for necks, choice of active or passive pickups, etc. Basically, if you just want a Fender Jazz, straight up Jazz Bass for a good price, go Mexican. You get all you need, nothing more, nothing less, and a good instrument for a lot cheaper than an American. I hope this helps. |
I'm doing English Literature, English language, History, Philosophy + Ethics, and General Studies...
|
what exactly do you study in general studies
hey everyone, whats the difference between a MIM jazz, USA, jazz and standard jazz. they all look the same.
MIM: Cheap bridge Cheaper wood Cheaper Capacitors Cheaper tuners Cheaper pickups MIJ: Better bridge Better wood Better Capacitors Better Tuners American pickups MIA: Best bridge (top-loard or string-thru) Option of having ash or alder Option of choosing rosewood or maple for fretboard American Pickups S-1 switching Graphite reinforcement on the neck Double-truss rod (Maybe be wrong in this one) Better capacitors and tuners? |
