If only it wasn't a Fender...

I dislike fender 5s altogether, not just because of the B string. I just didnt like the feel of it when i played it (MIA)
|
Nope. But the combination of me not wanting a Fender (which I have played), and Fender 5s being notoriously bad compared to something that would suit me better (Warwick, Ibanez etc) seals the deal. If it was free, I'd take it, sure, but I can think of things I'd rather buy.
Actually, I want a Winters Custom, but can't afford it. I can't afford anything, so its all a bit of a moot point. |
Eddie give me some more Iron Maiden that's a good fretting hand and plucking hand work out. :p
|
I don't understand the big deal about maple necks... ???
|
I don't understand the big deal about maple necks... ???
duh.............. they are made of maple  |
I don't understand the big deal about maple necks... ???
i dont understand how different necks effect the tone of your bass |
^^^ Its only really the tonally elitist people that notice the difference..
my tone isnt that important really. I dont aim for the perfect lows and perfect mids and perfect highs, and all that tonal mumbo-jumbo. As long as the bass doesnt sound crappy, im happy :) I just think theres more important things than a "perfect tone" |
Only the tonally elitist people notice different in tone? Jamie, I expected better from you :(.
Maple is brighter in sound than rosewood. It seems apparent on most basses I've played. |

It is no worse then most Ibanez basses, and if you can't afford a Winters custom, you probably can't afford a Warwick, so a pretty tight B is out of the questin anyway. |
I love maple for its blues sound ...im a maple kind of guy
|
im a zebrawood man myself :D

I would actually find rosewood more appropiate for blues, as it sounds darker.

Its like people that think different wood tops change the tone, yeah, probably. By a tiny bit! Thats basically what i was getting at :) |
oh oh were talkin about fretboards....................idk ive only really played on rosewood
|
Rosewood and Maple I think both sound good with blues. Maple on a guitar for sure.
