Don't you ever find yourself buying stuff you don't like?

gillygan 01-18-2006 10:14 AM

I saw nemo around ten times so im kinda sick of it, but it was good.

Man its really hard for me not to buy a cd when i walk in a record store. 50% of my money is spent on cd's and burritos :(

Stormrider 01-18-2006 10:14 AM

Out of the 20 i have, i bought 7 in the span of 2 weeks about a week ago. And i got the whole Iced Earth discography in a few months. There wasnt much variety in my cd shopping before.

I really should start buying again, but I don't have much money

but My wishlist is still growing

superpeer 01-18-2006 10:30 AM

I have like 200, there were times when I bought like 2 a week, but now I haven't bought any for a while. Mostly because I can't find what I need.

For me it's different. When I'm sitting here I think of the CDs I want. When I actually see them in stores I kinda think wether I want to buy it, or buy one I want more. (Cds I normally go for are priced at £20 at least).

I can't help buying them, although I'm hoping the last CD I'll buy for a while is the ones I've ordered off Ebay.

Cathedral - The VIIth Coming
and
Sunn O))) - Flight Of The Behemoth.

No.
There's the music shop I use, and the owner doesn't takwe very highly to mainstream 'shit'. He's also a huge 'Tallica fan, so those Cd's are half price, which is 4 quid.

Jom 01-18-2006 11:15 AM
My girlfriend's brother is obsessed with Finding Nemo. He's, uhh, 22. Great movie though, up there with Shrek for me.
Haha, whoa.

And holy crap, how could I forget about Shrek! The first one owned so hard. The second one was kind of meh, but the first one was awesome.

When I went to Universal Studios with my family a couple summers ago, the 4-D movie/ride thing was pretty cool. In the opening, Shrek had a monologue, and when he sneezed, you got sprayed with mist, heh. Oh, and when you went through the woods, you supposedly felt spiders, and the jets underneath your seat or whatever they used made it seem really freakin' realistic, which was cool with me.

I also approve of the DragonForce, even if Jelle doesn't.

the2stranger 01-18-2006 11:17 AM

I haven't yet heard the new Dargonforce, I'm very curious though :)
especially about this screamed/growled vocals.

I hope to catch them on a show again this year, awesome live-act

Hahahahahah. Quick story about my family, specifically my mom, about our trip to Universal Studios a couple summers ago.

My mom isn't big on roller coasters and scary things. But, since The Mummy was the brand new ride (and the building it was in was pretty impressive), she wanted to go in.

Little did she know it was actually a ride (even though I told her that).

Of course, she's asking the workers there "Is this scary?" and things like that, and so naturally they have to act like it is: "Oh, definitely, the scariest ride we have - it'll chill you to the booooooone!"

So, while we're sitting in line, my mom is pretty much on ultimate freak-out mode. She could have bailed so many times and I would have gone with her (I never saw any of the Mummy movies so I didn't really give two shits and a fuck about the ride to begin with), but nope, she sat down next to me in the cart.

To make a long story short, she went from ultimate freak-out mode to screaming lunatic, especially when the tracks change and you fall straight down backwards and then on an angle, and getting misted, and seeing all the animations and 'scary noises,' and what-have-you.

And so, that's probably the scariest thing my mom will ever do in her life - and she survived.

And she never told the story as in, "I conquered this ride even though I was petrified," it's always, "Oh my God, it was terrible, it was scary as hell, I could barely walk after because it was so scary..." and so on. Eventually, I got her to tell the real story to her co-workers when I went out to lunch with her on her lunch break with her co-workers, and now she has some form of pride in doing that ride.

It was still funny as hell, though.

Thats a funny story. My mom doesnt realy do any rides. The first time we went on the Jurassic park one, my mom ripped her raincoat in the big drop at the end.

my grandparents...or only my grandfather ...i dont remember...went with us on The Mummy and they liked it.

My grand mother loves water rides. At islands of Adventuures her favorite ride is probably The Popeye one. We get such a big laugh out of that ride when we come out all soaked and stuff.

kurrpt 01-18-2006 11:30 AM

i just went there this past september. On day 2 at the park i had the WORST head cold. Rides like "back to the future" were a nightmare for that reason.

When i did the Jimmy Neutron ride, i INSISTED that we ride in the NO MOTION seats.

sounds pathetic, i know

I managed to get a cheap Opeth CD a couple of weeks ago actually. Only £7.99

I bought Morningrise about a week and half ago and got it for 16.99 US$.
Very good price...Orchid here is like 30 CAN$. Its crazy.

for some reason, my girl gets really jumpy during those rides. I think she screamed more during that, then any roller coaster or ride at disney world.

Jom 01-18-2006 11:39 AM

The Back to the Future ride sucks, even without a headcold. I thought I had a concussion coming out of it because I sat in the back row, next to the door, next to my dad, who's a pretty big guy. I mean, I'm just as tall and maybe taller than him, but he outweighs me by fifty pounds or so, and those rides were cramped as hell.
I like the second one too; the first scene with Puss In Boots made me laugh so hard I missed the next scene.

Yeah, Puss In Boots ruled.

Yeah, Spiderman was cool, but it made me really dizzy because of all the colors moving so damn fast.

I forget what else I did there, because it was awhile ago. But I'm sure if people mentioned rides, I'd be like, "Yeah, I rode that."

Oh, I remember going to Nickelodeon studios, and being the only eighteen year old in the audience. That's one thing I'll never forgive my parents for, hahaha.

I rather Islands of Adventures though...

kurrpt 01-18-2006 11:43 AM

we rode the hulk coaster, the dueling dragons coaster (worst wait ever)

we did the doctor doom tower of doom. The MIB ride was cool as hell, where you shoot targets. I beat the sh!t out of every the ENTIRE day cause i realized early you could just hold the trigger down

Spiderman was done, jimmy neutron, shred 3D, the mummy, the TWISTER ride which is more of a demonstration then actual ride.
The Disney animators are a bit twisted, it seems. There appears to be one or two sex-related "Easter eggs" inside their movies.

Examples:

1. The priest's boner in The Little Mermaid - talk about foreshadowing, hm? Heh, heh.

2. In The Lion King, after the stampede scene, there's a duststorm that serves as a transition - the duststorm swirls to spell "sex" at one point.

And there are others, but I can't think of them this early.
