can any drummers tell me how i can tune my snare to the sound that danny has in lateralus
what kind of snare do you have....that will be the deciding factor there. :)

Doomed To Crumble 06-21-2005 10:22 PM

i have a PDP snare made from Drum workshop

Futuro 06-21-2005 10:24 PM

dimensions i mean, How many plies? thickness of plies ? depth ? diameter?

Doomed To Crumble 06-21-2005 10:27 PM

no idea ive only been playing drums for about 2 years and im self tought. unfortunatly im not very knowledgeable when it comes to my gear but im getting there

Futuro 06-21-2005 10:32 PM

im self taught also :) what type of heads do you have ? any extra info will help me ;)

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-21-2005 10:32 PM

I never thought of tuning a drum. Can you actually hear the note of the drum? Like..E or something??

Futuro 06-21-2005 10:41 PM
I never thought of tuning a drum. Can you actually hear the note of the drum? Like..E or something??
very tedious to do but yes you can . tuning a drum is more or less to get a desired sound or tone not pitch, roto toms and single headed toms allow tuning to a note much easier (terry bozzio) .but its not needed for double headed drums. :)

Terry Bozzio kicks ***. I'll upload a solo from him in the morning.
I have it.

I'll insert the link here

The link is now edited, so click there to get the backing track.

It's actually the soundclick with a few of our cover songs on it. The Stinkfist is only me playing guitar, but it is what we're going to use as a backing track. :-/ Don't ask.

Moses- If you don't want to get ignored, you must you size 7 bold font. (Do NOT use orange though. That's my color.)
I realize that, I will edit my page fourhundred post with ribbons and firworks :thumb:

Anyway, thanks for the backing track.

Supposedly that's the DVD release. The CD I think is rumored for September.

Moses 06-21-2005 11:24 PM

Ok here's my bands song so far. Not done yet, got about 3 more minutes left to do, maybe more.

Ugh crap. I closed the window before I copied the link. Just a few more minutes.

Moses 06-21-2005 11:31 PM

Here we go.

That'd be awesome for me. I can definately wait that long, compared to what I was thinking.

As for the dates that's only what I've been hearing and I'm not expecting anything. Alot of bands delay for like five months anyway. You should post the song when you're done.

Well it was an April fools joke, but that doesn't mean he can't be a Christian.

Convectuoso 06-21-2005 11:50 PM

Yeah I didn't hate the fact he was christian it was the fact that he was stopping recording for it.

:)

Wait, I didn't know that was part of the rumor.

The recording of it is extremely rough on an analog recorder with only guitars, but when my band finishes the song with a good recording, I'll be sure to post it here.

I'm still working out some things in the song, so give me a few minutes on the song you uploaded.

Convectuoso 06-21-2005 11:57 PM

Well that's what I heard anyways that why I was so eager to ask about the relase date.

Man, Tool really do know how to keep fans anxious. It better be worth it.

One more album and they'll be 65 and will want to retire :p

:)

Kage 06-21-2005 11:58 PM

That's what we're all afraid of.

Convectuoso 06-22-2005 12:06 AM

Anyone got the Guitar Pro tab for Sweat?

I'm out to learn all Tool songs on bass, starting with sweat and working my way through. *sighs*

:)

Moses 06-22-2005 12:06 AM

Danny Carey would deteriorate to nothing, and Maynard's voice would become frail. Well, not much on age and guitar or bass except arthritis.

One Groovin Clown 06-22-2005 12:06 AM

it iwll happen one day, dare i say it? One day there will no longer be no new Tool releases :( but i could wait till next year for they're new album.

Convectuoso 06-22-2005 12:07 AM

Oh and I'd learn off the Mxtab but the timings are a little wierd and I can't hear the bass on the parts I need to.

:)

Phobophile 06-22-2005 12:10 AM

"The CD I think is rumored for September"-doubtful

"Well it was an April fools joke, but that doesn't mean he can't be a Christian."-doubtful

"One more album and they'll be 65 and will want to retire"-most likely :upset:

I think we all could if it meant not having them grow old.

*Cries at the thought*

:)

Phobophile 06-22-2005 12:13 AM

tooltabs.net provide pretty in depth know how. Don't use the Guitar pro tabs they for some reason for Tool they sound NOTHING like they are supposed to.GP works great for every band but tool and I have no idea why.however if you wanted to on your own you could take the the tabs from tooltabs.net and put in your own GP
