Well that was the point. I'm not saying those are my personal favorites.

ANtreaper 10-09-2004 10:50 AM

For some songs for The Doors, i'd suggest:

Back Door Man*
Break on Through
Hello, I Love you
Light my fire
Love street*
Peace frog
Riders on the storm*
Roadhouse blues*
People are strange
The soft parade*

* = personal favorites.

BludgeonySteve 10-09-2004 10:50 AM

For the doors maybe, Light My Fire, The End, LA Women, Roadhouse Blues, Strange days, People Are Strange, When the music's over...

All of that good stuff.

YellowShirt 10-09-2004 11:00 AM
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?

o and for u classic rock fans, the crime of the new century was that the Yardbirds new CD, Birdland, recieved no attention at all. that deserved a grammy, or 6.

so are there any other classic rock fans out there, and even if ur not, have u been noticing somewhat of a revival in interest for that sort of music?
i think it is because the people who used to love classic rock when it was new are now parents and maybe showed it to there kids

Dark Hero 10-09-2004 11:12 AM

Oh ok. Your previous post confused me.

You know, suprisingly enough, that doesn't help us with anything.

Woodstock 10-09-2004 12:17 PM

Morrison Hotel is my favorite Doors album, followed by LA Woman. But they are all great.

thickasabrick 10-09-2004 12:20 PM

its weird how each doors album changed so much. if they kept going it probably would have been like straight r&b music.

Dark Hero 10-09-2004 12:22 PM
probably would have been like straight r&b music.
Kind of like Van Morrison.

BludgeonySteve 10-09-2004 01:20 PM
Morrison Hotel is my favorite Doors album,.
Yay. Me too :D

Whatever 10-09-2004 01:44 PM

this is a little off on a tangent, but I don't know if the Doors could have gone on and still been so revolutionary. they would have either turned into crap (aerosmith), or (stay with me) they wouldn't have made the same music if they hadn't done drugs and stuff. For example: Syd barrett would not have gone crazy if he didn't drop so much acid, but Pink floyd would not have been the same. It's a similar situation with Nirvana.

There is no answer to that question, only something you can wonder about.

Yes it is.............................................

the mighty zep 10-09-2004 03:34 PM

To Whatever...

Doors were the only band to have sense and stop before things got worse. We could all agree (with a few exceptions) that most, even the greatest bands of all tim, get worse as years go on.

Zeppelin...

RockAndRoll 10-09-2004 03:46 PM

I think the doors stopped to early. But... well... you know...
I think the doors stopped to early. But... well... you know...
Yeah, but they made an adequate amount of music within that time. :)

Badmoon 10-09-2004 03:47 PM

anyone want a sample?

the mighty zep 10-09-2004 03:47 PM

To Woodstock

yes...Zeppelin got way worse...starting with Disc 2 on Physical Griffiti. I just never liked the fact of one of my favorite hard rock 70s bands goin to blues all the sudden. almost hurts

Floyd almost took a bad fall, but The Devision Bell recovered what wouldve been lost forever.

Guns N roses defintaly took a bad hit too.
I think the Beatles were the only band not to end in tragedy (music-wise)

Of what?

MalcolmYoungRock 10-09-2004 03:48 PM

Their debut album is my favorite.

Badmoon 10-09-2004 03:48 PM

It doesn't matter, I give you whatever; probably something less known.

Badmoon 10-09-2004 03:54 PM

Dark Hero 10-09-2004 03:55 PM
Their debut album is my favorite.
That was the first Doors album I ever owned and it's my favorite by them.

Ohhh you'll except it!!!!!!!!

Badmoon 10-09-2004 04:00 PM

IMO, the blues part was the best part of Zeppelin.
