i remember i wrote a joke in my TSOA review about how nobody cares about one of their old singers, and then the dude emailed me giving me a huge explanation about why nobody cares about him.

Was he on an album...or do you care enough to answer?
Nope, he just played on a tour or two.

TojesDolan 09-26-2007 03:42 PM

Tyler: Last page didn't say so.

Or the one before it.

Thor 09-26-2007 03:42 PM

You know that no one cares about you when you post on sputnik.

Tyler 09-26-2007 03:43 PM
[contrary]I prefer Carnage in the Temple of the Damned and Sacrificial Suicide[/contrary]

And my favourite Slayer song is "The Antichrist"

Jondur: going against popular opinion since 1977
haha, nice :p

and ive said this before but you might not have seen it jondur, deicide ripped off dark angel on sacrificial suicide. maybe coincidence, i dont know.

Well that is their best song.

pate 09-26-2007 04:30 PM

I'm partial to Die by the Sword.

Hmm. Black Prophecies? It's a similar riff, but Deicide barely use it at all wheras Dark Angel base the entire 8 minute song around it, so I can't really call it a rip-off.

If you're thinking of some other song then never mind.

rattlehead42147 09-26-2007 05:35 PM

yeah thats the song. deicide barely use it so youre probably right here. like i said probably coincidence but what made me notice it is that glen's vocal rhythm even sounds the same as the singing on BP.

as usual, i underestimated another album, death shall rise. dont know why i didn't like it the first time.

LifeInABox 09-26-2007 06:21 PM

I actually dig Obscura more than I thought I would.

Dimmu Burger 09-26-2007 07:54 PM

I'm excited because I'm seeing Cannibal Corpse, The Red Chord, Goatwhore, Black Dahlia Murder and The Absence next wednesday! And its been awhile since I've been to a metal show, so this is a good show to get started again with!

Eliminator 09-26-2007 08:02 PM

wow thats a pretty bad lineup

LifeInABox 09-26-2007 08:02 PM

Gosh darnit. I have a ticket to that, but I don't know if I have a ride :(

TRC and CC are good, the rest I don't care about seeing.

masscows 09-26-2007 08:20 PM

Cannibal Corpse is boring after the first time you've seen them.

LifeInABox 09-26-2007 08:23 PM

Havn't seen them yet.

masscows 09-26-2007 08:24 PM

Seriously? The first time you see them it's pretty cool, but when I saw them for a second time it was just an hour or so of what I've seen before, and they're hardly entertaining to listen to for that long.

Poofy 666 09-26-2007 08:51 PM

Cannibal Corpse are boring regardless the circumstances

fail

What do you guys think of Abysmal Torment? I thought Incised Wound Suicide was pretty good. Reminded me a lot of Beheaded. Probably since they are both from Malta.

rattlehead42147 09-26-2007 09:05 PM

anybody like incubus in here?
beyond the unknown is good from the little ive heard, im getting the rest now.

trc and bdm were cool but the others were pretty boring.

cannibal corpse was very boring for my second time seeing them. so i went in the pit to try to have some fun. i've seen goatwhore like six times so blah. i missed most of the absence so i can't really comment on them, but from what i heard, they just sounded like generic melo death.

Tyler 09-27-2007 12:00 AM

The Red Chord is amazing live. The bassist is hilarious, and Gunface is a really, really nice guy.

Bazarov 09-27-2007 12:16 AM

When I saw them with GWAR they were getting boo'd and heckled so bad. The singer eventually picked one kid out of the front row that was flipping him off and told everyone around him that he was having a bad day and needed a group hug.

I might go see Cannibal Corpse when they come to my town, but most likely not. Unless for some reason they were going to play a bunch of Eaten back to Life and Butchered at Birth material.

Tyler 09-27-2007 12:17 AM

All I know is they put on one of the best performances I've seen in a really, really long time when I saw them. Maybe it was just the venue; I saw them in a club that held maybe 200 people, a venue not fit for GWAR by any standards. They had amazing presence, the sound was more or less perfect, and they handled the crowd (and a technical hiccup) perfectly. Who knows.

comptonassrobert 09-27-2007 12:20 AM

Thanks for the posi rep Bartender :]. You didn't leave a comment though so I'm guessing you liked my band?

C.O.A. 09-27-2007 12:23 AM

yeah i pretty much enjoyed trc's set the most. the only thing that was bothering me was that one of their guitarists was moving around like a faggot.
