Velvet Revolver is better than GNR IMO.

I just can't stand Axel's voice for the most part.

PaulSimonon 05-14-2005 10:51 AM

So, I'm, like, still here.

black_star 05-14-2005 10:51 AM

Isn't anybody going to ask me how JOE satriani was? :naughty:

Left Shoe 05-14-2005 10:51 AM

no go to the guitar forum n00b

just kidding, how was it?

Spaceman Spiff 05-14-2005 10:52 AM

I don't like either band except for a few GNR songs.

fatbandit 05-14-2005 10:55 AM

Sweet Child O' Mine and Paradise City are good. The rest of the album is pretty... meh.

black_star 05-14-2005 10:56 AM

well, mind bloying seems to be an understatement !

he played for three hours, without any breaks ! the bass player (though he had his bass hung really low, and was playing with a pick) he was good, really good.

the bass covered the whole song, doing the job of the rhythm guitar, kinda groovy while joe was playing leads.

All three band members seemed really locked in. fucking tight performance !

And i got to jump a barricade a be a little bit more closer to the stage, i paid rs.500 and watched the show from the rs.1000 area :naughty: :thumb:

fatbandit 05-14-2005 10:56 AM

He did turn my Primus/Pantera/Metallica/Faith No More playlist off for Appetite For Destruction though... :(

black_star 05-14-2005 11:00 AM

See what kind of me you are :p

Spaceman Spiff 05-14-2005 11:24 AM

Hmm... I think I want a Conklin GT4 as my 4 string that I intend to buy.

fluoxetine 05-14-2005 11:36 AM

that's great, look forward to click in with y'all

I'm supposed to be playin Jazz standards in 2 hrs time, nothing serious..just a jam session...only that I've never played Jazz b4(I played Metal all the while)
i hope it works out.

any advice?

Radiobass81 05-14-2005 11:45 AM

I have just figured out what my ideal bass would be like...

A fretless P with 24 frets.

Really, that's all I want, and it has eveyrhting I need; boomy sound, fretless neck for vibratos and such, and 24 frets for experimenting.

Now, all I need to do is find one. Winters is an option...

For now, keep it simple, and just play walking bass lines (according to the chords being played, of course)

Gackt 05-14-2005 11:47 AM

Anyone did the quiz yet? :p

fluoxetine 05-14-2005 11:55 AM

yeah...I'm a Story Gackt...thats so emo :D

btw,Thanks for the advice.

Radiobass81 05-14-2005 11:55 AM

What quiz?

Spaceman Spiff 05-14-2005 11:56 AM

You are the black, winged Gackt from Malice Mizer's most popular album.
The songs on this album are dark but inspiring. All are unforgettable. Some of Malice Mizer's best work in the Gackt-age is on this CD, for it displays the multi-faceted creativity of this very versatile band.
The corresponding music videos and concert for this album are equally fascinating. Many visual kei looks are considered to be integral to this album, but most famous perhaps is the wing scheme.... where Gackt flew down from the stage ceiling all in black with giant wings like a graceful and solemn raven.

Radiobass81 05-14-2005 11:59 AM

Darn, spikey haired Gackt >.<.

Gackt 05-14-2005 12:00 PM

Ha... i just found it on the web... i find the Gackt to be pretty gay actually...

A fretless P wouldn't have any frets. :thumb:

Radiobass81 05-14-2005 12:03 PM

Indeed.

EDIT: Referring to Gackt.

Spaceman Spiff 05-14-2005 12:04 PM

^ Double-octave fretboard.

Radiobass81 05-14-2005 12:05 PM
A fretless P wouldn't have any frets. :thumb:
Indeed, but you know what I mean, double octaved :p.

EDIT: Beaten to it.
^ Double-octave fretboard.
I know I just felt like kidding around a bit

fluoxetine 05-14-2005 12:06 PM

actually most Japanese Rock bands look pretty gay :D

I used to play songs by this band L'arc en ciel...should check the bassist out..he's killer with his smooth basslines

ok...I'm off.

fatbandit 05-14-2005 12:11 PM

We need a metal drummer and singer (not shouter... dear me), but adverts have come up with nothing. Any ideas people?

Radiobass81 05-14-2005 12:15 PM

You sing for a while.

fatbandit 05-14-2005 12:22 PM

Bad idea. I can't scream and or/sing (I say no screamers/shouters, what I mean is no exclusive screamers. The voice has to be used tastefully, like distortion. Distortion isn't always needed, and is the downfall of many guitarists), especially not while playing anything complex. Anyway, the singer isn't as vital as a drummer. And don't suggest I drum and play bass...

peeted 05-14-2005 12:23 PM

im playing basket ball again :)

fatbandit 05-14-2005 12:28 PM

Dr Who, and Billie Piper, calls!
