good rats 05-13-2005 01:20 AM

Gday all. My music store better have the bass head I want in.

kilian 05-13-2005 01:22 AM

The sweet yamaha? :D
You are going to get it today?

good rats 05-13-2005 01:31 AM

I wish it was the Yamaha, I'm after the Behringer BX3000t, not the worlds greatest head, but it's going to do the job. Then, I save up for the Yamaha, or the Cort.

kilian 05-13-2005 01:47 AM

Ah I see :smoke:
Still a nice head for the money :D

Convectuoso 05-13-2005 02:03 AM

My music shop had this borderline sexy 5 string fretless that I planned on saving for and then I go in the other day to get a new lead and, IT'S GONE!!! *cries forever* it was so perfect for me ha
Billy Talent anyone?
i saw them at warped tour ......they owned

fatbandit 05-13-2005 04:34 AM

Yeh, but what should I do? I have no idea! And no idea where to start learning slap... :( A 4 string bass seems a good start... :(

Thunder Fingers 05-13-2005 04:36 AM

you take your bass, lift your thumb, and hit the string....

Thunder Fingers 05-13-2005 04:40 AM

anyway, im out, i gotta find me self some picks for me guitar :p

The Forgotten Bassist 05-13-2005 04:52 AM

There are people who play electric basses in orchestras, they aren't all upright players.

kilian 05-13-2005 04:52 AM

Nah.. why a 4string if you can also slap on a 5? It will be a bit difficult, so what? :D

fatbandit 05-13-2005 04:53 AM

Psh, just make picks from plastic. Tis what I did. Anyway, I know the basics of slap, and I can slap very eays things very badly...

fatbandit 05-13-2005 04:55 AM

Kili, I'd just rather use a 4 - this doesn't have great string spacing, and I'm just not used to slap.

kilian 05-13-2005 04:59 AM

^^ That's true.. But I can also slap on a 5 string :thumb: And I am a poor slapper myself.

You can't slap at all?

fatbandit 05-13-2005 05:01 AM

Well not with any degree of skill or accuracy. Hehe.

fatbandit 05-13-2005 05:01 AM

Or speed.

kilian 05-13-2005 05:05 AM

OK

Than you can perfectly learn it on a 5 string :thumb: You are used to that string spacing, so if you learn it from the beginning on a 5 stringer, it will be just as difficult as on a 4 string.. That's how my theory goes.

fatbandit 05-13-2005 05:09 AM

Psh. I can never get a good clean slap tone either.

kilian 05-13-2005 05:10 AM

That's a problem :P

But I'm out of here! bye.

fatbandit 05-13-2005 05:14 AM

Bubye.

Bass_swede 05-13-2005 09:31 AM

I feel so punk  My D-string broke so I tuned up a A-string at it! Talk about tension! I can't afford new strings right now ;)

jaco jr 05-13-2005 09:32 AM
