That doesn't make sense.

/last post in this thread until I find some doom metal I like
of course a straight line of logic doesn't make sense to you.

ATM 02-26-2008 11:42 PM
This thread is dumb. Stoner and sludge metal has been permeated by pretentious pseudo-intellectual indie faggots. I'm glad I don't like it so I won't be disappointed by its ultimate downfall due to excess gay.

Guys, I missed Zoroaster. Pretty bummed, but I have no money after getting towed.

Going to try and scrounge up 10 bones for Russian Circles tomorrow.

gmoneyguy 02-26-2008 11:50 PM

They are touring the Red Sparowes aren't they?

ATM 02-26-2008 11:52 PM

The show here is with Dalek and Young Widows.

gmoneyguy 02-26-2008 11:54 PM

Ok I'm not as mad.

I guess it's later on this year when the start the Red Sparowes tour.

ATM 02-26-2008 11:58 PM

Looks like they are playing with Agolloch at some point.

Yeah I am pretty ****ing excited for that show!

Nostalgia 02-27-2008 12:39 AM

This While Heaven Wept album I got a few days ago is really awesome. Besides the fact the vocals sound a little power metally, the riffs are awesome and all contrast very well.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-27-2008 02:36 AM

so I guess that's all you'll be listening to for the next six months?

Jondur 02-27-2008 02:58 AM
I probably have but I didn't pay attention to how cheesy it was
Get the f*ck out.

Nostalgia: Which WHW album do you have? Not that it matters as they're all quite similar stylistically. Of Empires Forlorn is a bit more epic prog than earlier stuff though.

I just got Chapter One: 1989-1999 because it seemed like my best option. I'm really liking it so far, especially "Thus With a Kiss I Die". Amazing vocals.

Jono: Yeah ok, at least I binge on a good band instead of constantly listening to Daft Punk.

Txus 02-27-2008 05:27 PM

Daft Punk >>>>> Most of the **** you listen to.

fag.

and WHW are pretty good, but I can't listen to them much.
Just finished listening to Epicus Doomicus Metallicus

Wow
I told you.

Eliminator 02-27-2008 06:34 PM

"wow" could mean a number of things

pate 02-27-2008 06:36 PM

But there is a right answer.

C.O.A. 02-27-2008 06:36 PM
"wow" could mean a number of things
yeah. and based on masscows' previous posts, i have a feeling that the "wow" he posted is a negative "wow"...

masscows 02-27-2008 06:36 PM
I told you.
It's like it's dark and emotional but kicks *** at the same time. And it never, ever drags because it changes alot. On my 2nd listen and I'm liking it even more.

owned.

masscows 02-27-2008 06:39 PM

I never really gave doom much of a chance until now though. I have "Turn Loose the Swans" by My Dying Bride but it was way too depressing for me to like it so I haven't listened to it in a while. I think I'll listen to it again later though. I think I'm gonna be getting more doom from here on out though :thumb:

Nostalgia 02-27-2008 06:48 PM

It's MDB's best album

@ Candlemass discussion: Samarithan is their best song. Anyone who disputes is gay.
Oh god, wait till you hear Nightfall my man.

...cept Lee
I dont think I've ever seen Lee participate in any kikedom. And Nightfall is better Masscows, and since you liked Epicus I hope you're biting your tongue for your previous negative thoughts about doom metal. Of course by mentioning the Nightfall album, I am required, nay forced to whore my review.
http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=11852

And Jondur was right, my review was unfairly critical. :D Everyone should read his soundoff.

You must spread before giving rep to Nostalgia again.

It used to be my least favorite song on Nightfall. Now it's one of my favorites.

"One day I saw Austin..."

FatalEnergy 02-27-2008 09:03 PM

I actually like Epicus more than Nightfall honestly.

Ancient Dreams is still my favorite

rattlehead42147 02-27-2008 09:07 PM

There is a main riff to a song on Ancient Dreams that is a sped up riff from Nightfall. I can't seem to find it though...

Nostalgia 02-27-2008 09:17 PM

Mirror Mirror has my favorite riff, but Ancient Dreams in general isn't doomy enough for me, and same goes with Tales of Creation.

At the Gallows End was always my favorite Candlemass song just because the chorus riff is ****ing awesome, but Samarithan as a whole is much stronger I think.

rattlehead42147 02-27-2008 09:19 PM

It's really hard for me to choose one favorite song but Samarithan and At the Gallows End are up there. I reviewed it for a 5 so practically every song on Nightfall is perfect imo. The first Candlemass song I heard was Bewitched and I think that song gets a little overlooked since it was a single, its still a great song.

NemesisDivina 02-27-2008 09:20 PM

I like when he says fiddle.

Nostalgia 02-27-2008 09:22 PM

Yeah, Bewitched was mine, too, as well as a lot of other people since the video is so infamous.
