[QUOTE=LordDargon]I have Power Trap, it's kind of... jerky. The riffs are all rough and choppy. It's kinda meh.

Iced Earth's "Night Of The Stormrider" took a spin in my stereo today. I forgot how good of an album it was. Solid power/thrash!

His highly fitting user title adequately explains the mountains of stupidity he employs in his posts.

NP: Slayer - Necrophobic

I'm off to school, I'll be back online first period though.

Chu 02-28-2005 07:19 AM

Is this open to anyone btw?
I love thrash, first and foremost I think. Although, I'll admit I haven't heard alot of thrash (Metallica, Megadeth, Kreator, some Pantera, but I don't think many people really consider them thrash, although I could be wrong, and Slayer).
I'd actually like to find some more thrash bands :)

Anyone listen to Blind Illusion? Guitarist from Possessed&Primus and bassist of Primus are in it, so it's gotta be pretty technical. I'll check them out and tell you guys what I think.

Yep, Les Claypool and Larry Lalonde right? I can't remember where I heard them, but I have and they were good. Thrash/jazz!

Morgoth battling Turin... im a Lord of the Rings nerd.

Griffin_Page 02-28-2005 11:53 AM

So I know none of you like jazz but in the last week I've played three shows with our community jazz band, The Blue Notes.. and they all kicked ***.

Blind Illusion, the name definitely rings a bell
I'll check them out :thumb:

NP: Megadeth - Hangar 18

Finally got Sodom-Persecution Mania/In the sign on Evil/Cruelty Obsessed. I really like PM, But ITSOE isn't as great. By the way, Morbid Angel were awesome, Pete is practically god. Also, I found out Overkill is touring, yet not coming to Massachusetts BASTARDS

RCA 02-28-2005 10:09 PM

I listened to Horde of Torment's "Product Of A Sick Mind" today, and then d/l'ed it. Another really solid brutal thrash album, highly recommended. The band split up in the early nineties though, so there won't be anymore material by them to find.

yeah, I have thier album, The Sane Asylum.......it's okay, the guys from Primus were pretty much just hired guns, and didn't really contribute the album, it's still good and work a listen though :thumb:

Huber 02-28-2005 10:45 PM

I thought I'd ask you guys this...

I've heard people say stuff about differences between Old Kreator and New Kreator. Which albums would you categorize as new and old?

Anything post Coma of Souls was not too good IMO, I think Mille must have found religion or something :p The last two albums, Violent Revolution and Enemy of God were a slight return to form though :thumb:

Apocalyptic Raids 03-01-2005 02:56 AM

The last two Kreator releases seemed to have a bit of an At The Gates type of sound to them.

Yes... 'Gothen****ed' as it's known. Can't say it bothers me too much myself, but I like a lot of music that comes from Sweden. Interesting though, them being from Germany and all. Well I suppose it infected America aswell....in a bad way.

Yeah, alright, new topic of discussion now I return from a lengthy stint away from the Internet. Best Thrash album covers? may have been done, but screw it. My vote goes to *Drum roll* Megadeth - Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?....they generally have cool covers. But best band overall for album covers goes to Razor.

NP: Torture Squad - Pandemonium

metal-militia 03-01-2005 06:58 AM

I'd say best album cover is between Persecution Mania (gotta love the solider :p) and Forbidden evil :thumb:

Sliptallica: Buy Pleasure to Kill NOW!

NP: Kreator - Command of the Blade

ThrashMaster27 03-01-2005 06:59 AM

Yeah! Sodom have great covers aswell. Always war related, but always good....I like the M-16 one best.

LordDargon 03-01-2005 07:02 AM

Really? I never much liked Razor's covers aside from Violent Restitution - they got everything right on that album, though :p

The best album cover is, of course, Slayer - Hell Awaits. Still looks a million times more evil than any foggy, uber-lo-fi kvlt black metal demo cover.

Aside from that though... I like the cover on Sodom - Agent Orange. WAAAAR

And for Sweden, Gaythenburg can munch my anus, but there is some quality stuff from there like Grave and Dismember.

Dismember!!! \m/ Like An Ever Flowing Stream = Favorite Death Metal Album

Best album cover goes to...I can't decide.
