I already went through it on page 3890ish, maybe a little before. But yeh, she seems happier with it all now, I even got the slightly worried 'When will I see you again' in a cheesy movie style delivery (but not meant that way, heh).

fatbandit 05-12-2005 06:48 AM

I think I need to go get my hair cut, buy some phone credit, and buy some lunch from a crap shop, in anticipation of my not going out tonight. Laters (not that I'm the only one here now or anything, not at all)

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 06:54 AM

I got me guitar today! its alittle beat up, the finish looks alittle cheap but its a most exelent guitar, it dont feel bad at all. and the singer in my band allready said it felt nice. it gonna need a serroiuse cleaning, new strings and new tuners though, and i need a pick

supercalifragilistic 05-12-2005 06:57 AM

hi all

supercalifragilistic 05-12-2005 07:00 AM
Rahr. I make my highly awaited return, or so it seems!

I am so in with that girl... Soon...

No more school, just exams for 2/3 weeks in a little while! Then Sixth Form in September...

Anyway, my prom is tonight and I'm not going... Anyone else have a distaste for proms? I just didn't feel like going. So now I'm a loner and need something to do!
I hate proms
everyone trying to dress and act like adults
90% chance of bad music
if it's a school prom: total lack of alcohol
I hate proms

I love Nirvana's 'polly'

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 07:37 AM

it looks like a standard fender in sunburst with maple fretboard, only a different name on the headstock.

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 07:37 AM

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 07:54 AM

nah, i'm looking at active humbucker equipped 4s
so far i've narrowed it down to:
>Ibanez EDG600
>Musicman Sub 4
>Dean Q4 Bartolini

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 07:57 AM
:upset: i guess thatt'll do :upset:

can i please learn to play it first? and with in 2 weeks or something i might have removed everything that make it sound like it does now ;)

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 07:59 AM

 i need to get a pick(the curse of the bassist, there are no picks laying arounnd in the house....)

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 08:00 AM

ahhh....i thought u knew how to play! sorry :p
are you going to use it for recording or just messing around on?

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 08:01 AM
 i need to get a pick(the curse of the bassist, there are no picks laying arounnd in the house....)
make one:
>empty plastic drinks bottle
>scissors
>sand paper (or other such thingy)

add it all together and you got urself a pick my man :thumb:

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 08:01 AM

im gonna learn to play it(hey, i can allready play most of the main riffs in iron maidens Phantom of the Opera pretty damn well if i may say so... )

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 08:02 AM

ahhh.....i'm still trying to get the second intro riff of 'Aces High' down....alas, i'm not very good :upset:

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 08:04 AM

i know i have 1 or 2 laying around the house from the time i started playing bass..(they followed with it...never used em) im gonna go to town and buy some tomorrow... and some strings..

and then im gonna order new pickups, pots, pickguard, as. screws, tone and volum control, tuners and a new nut...

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 08:05 AM
ahhh.....i'm still trying to get the second intro riff of 'Aces High' down....alas, i'm not very good :upset:
i have been playing Phantom on my bass for 1.5 year, it wasnt that hard to put it over to guitar...

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 08:08 AM

i also wanna try to learn 'The Evil That Men Do' but i really doubt i'll be able to play the bass that fast w/fingers. the guitar ahouldn't be much bother, except maybe the solo, but that Mr.Harris has some fast fingers on him!

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 08:09 AM

indeed he have, have you heard Phantom at "Beast over Hammersmith"? most pick playing Death Metal bassists would have been proud over reaching that speed, and steve does it with 2 fingers....

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 08:09 AM

don't bother buying pics! just buy other stuff from a shop and ask them to throw in a few free ones, nowhere i've ever tried this has said no!
what p/us u putting in it?

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 08:12 AM

Jiwestone(i think its wilkinson that make em for them) they claim that they sound as good as the american fenders... but, their pickup set is like half the price of ONE seymour Duncan pup.. i wont loose that much.

and the difference is, i dont want Random picks, i know EXACTLYwhat i want...;)

Spaceman Spiff 05-12-2005 08:14 AM

I can play pretty fast with my fingers, but I could not use a pick if my life depended on it.

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 08:16 AM

^didnt you call YYZ for way to fast for you?

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 08:17 AM

i'm surprised you didn't go for the Iron Maiden custom strat!

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 08:17 AM
I can play pretty fast with my fingers, but I could not use a pick if my life depended on it.
unfortunately for my bass side, i am the complete opposite

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 08:18 AM

its out of production, and even if it still was made, its WAY out of my price range... even with alot of updates on this one, its gonna be cheaper than a Squire... (mostly becouse i bought it used...)

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 08:22 AM

tis a shame, i quite liked the look of the black and mirror scratch plate. i can imagine it being ridiculously expensive though!

Thunder Fingers 05-12-2005 08:23 AM

no, it was made in japan, and that imediatly drags the quality UP, and the Price Down... i guess it was around the same price as the Steve Harris and Geddy Lee Sigs...

Spaceman Spiff 05-12-2005 08:25 AM
^didnt you call YYZ for way to fast for you?
It was at first.
My only problem with it now is just playing it correctly, the speed isn't much of a problem.

Of course, I'm only talking about the main riff, I don't know the rest of the song. :)

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 08:53 AM

ever so slowly but ever so surely i'm getting there with the whole slapping thingy
i still cant get any speed up but i'm quite happy with the tone i'm getting now
i haven't been this disgruntled with an instrument since i first picked up the guitar!

fatbandit 05-12-2005 10:16 AM

Blah.

:(

ElKapitan 05-12-2005 10:33 AM
