You see, I understand the basics of sheet music - time signatures and rythms and whatnot - I just can't convert notes on paper to frets on a bass.

Hmmm well I know of one program, and it doesn't "do it for you", but it does make it a hell of a lot easier. I would give you the link but I'm a lazy bas[SIZE="2"]tard[/SIZE], just search "Power Tab Editor" in google and download the software from the first link you find, methinks.

If all else fails just remember that the bottom line in the stave is an "E" and go from there.

Anyone know of something that can take midi files and convert them to tabs? I have anvil studio, which allows me to see a midi as a piano roll or notes, but not tab, and tab is what I can read.
