Dave was always as good as the other guitarist

Apocalyptic Raids 08-01-2006 08:48 AM

I never said he wasn't.

pate 08-01-2006 12:41 PM

Well, as Dave puts it, he is a good lead player, but a much better rhythm player, whereas the other guitarist is the opposite.

jane 08-02-2006 07:00 AM

Dave likes to play speed solos, when the other guitarist uses bending, palme muting, sliding...
Exemple : holy war

Aw3someman 08-02-2006 08:31 AM

Dave wasn't as good in soloing as Marty though. Marty wasn't great at rhythms but at solos...

Mother 08-02-2006 09:35 AM

There are some rumours going around that this could be the artwork for the new album.

cool
My favorite megadeth cd cover is peace sells

Apocalyptic Raids 08-02-2006 09:45 AM

Where is Vic? Looks like a fake to me.

Drone 08-02-2006 10:02 AM

Vic is on the United Nations building. You can see his face if you look closely. :)

I think the new artwork is awesome. It reminds me of the old Megadeth albums, but without Vic being a major presence.

Still can't see it

Drone 08-02-2006 10:33 AM

Ok.

Do you see the missile that is hitting near the center of the building? That is where Vic's nose is, and if you look up you can see the trademark glasses and then look down you can see his stapled mouth. His whole body is not present on the building, just his face. You should be able to see it now, it's not hard to spot. :D

Jev 08-02-2006 11:34 AM

I don't like the album artwork.

pate 08-02-2006 11:49 AM

I do. It's kind of cool.

FatalEnergy 08-02-2006 01:18 PM

I like it, but it looks fake.

Lord Abortion 08-02-2006 01:30 PM

I would suspect it was fake, the album title isn't even on

pate 08-02-2006 01:38 PM

...yes it is.

Lord Abortion 08-02-2006 01:44 PM

Okay, I'm blind...sorr-eee

pate 08-02-2006 01:47 PM

No prob. It's kind of small and hard to notice...just like *name*'s necropenis.

Lord Abortion 08-02-2006 01:54 PM

That would be Jono.

Drone 08-02-2006 01:56 PM

I don't think it's finished. I like it except it seems to have so many colours going on, and it is a bit too bright for a Megadeth album cover. Not everyone can be pleased, though.

Aw3someman 08-02-2006 02:10 PM

This album cover is featured in the Gigantour ecard

Favorite Megadeth covers are Peace Sells..., CTE, and TSHF

Nepenthe 08-02-2006 02:56 PM

I think it's a good cover. I'm glad Dave's decided to go back to good covers, Cryptic Writings isn't terrible, but Risk is pretty bad.

FatalEnergy 08-02-2006 03:00 PM

Everything about Risk is bad

El_Goodo 08-03-2006 12:52 AM

I'm looking for a deth song to cover with my band, were a trio I play guitar and sing. What I'm looking for is a song that would be easy to sing and play, i.e. not a song like Holy Wars where Dave is playing an ungodly riff but still manages to sing.

So far I'm leaning towards Symphony Of Destruction.

Jaundice 08-03-2006 01:01 AM

Sweating Bullets is as easy as it gets to play.

In my personal opinion, though, it's not that good of a song.

blue3 08-03-2006 01:26 AM

Yeah, Symphony of Destruction would be a good one or Peace Sells.

El_Goodo 08-03-2006 01:26 AM

Ah I like that song, but my drummer does not.

El_Goodo 08-03-2006 01:27 AM

Am I the only who finds it amazing the things Dave can sing and play? Haha

Jaundice 08-03-2006 01:47 AM
Ah I like that song, but my drummer does not.
I think Dave gets into the vocals a bit too much. Like when he says, "And smile it's black toothed grin," I just find it so silly.

I'm all for putting your all into the vocals, but in that perticular song it just didn't come off right for me.

jane 08-03-2006 03:37 AM

Victory

No I do too, especially the whole of RIP.

FatalEnergy 08-03-2006 04:54 AM

Apparently that's why they have never played Poison Was the Cure Live. The music and vocals are timed strangly, so Dave couldn't do it too well.

Jev 08-03-2006 04:55 AM

Well I guess that's okay, it's the worst song on RIP.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-03-2006 04:55 AM

That doesn't suprise me. I've seen a video of them doing Take No Prisoners live, and that was pretty impressive.

FatalEnergy 08-03-2006 04:55 AM
Well I guess that's okay, it's the worst song on RIP.
It's my favorite!

Apocalyptic Raids 08-03-2006 04:58 AM

Poison Was The Cure is probably my least favourite on the album, but it's still a great song.

Ya, same with Five Magics and Rust in Peace... Polaris, aparantly he said that playing Rust in Peace... Polaris while singing was like having sex on a bicycle?

I'd go with Peace Sells except the "Peace Sells But Whos Buying" part might be hard
