magic of the wizard's dream owns. no care about any other christopher lee related music
|
well he's on the new manowar re-recording which is why i brought it up
|
yeah, I know just stating my opinion on his music
stupid effects for his voice was lame, but idk did the voiceovers alright, can't match the originals but who can |
Saruman would not be pleased if he still had his palantir and saw your posts in it.
Dude, Christopher Lee kicks ass.
.
He's no Orson Welles. |
Ressurected Just to say that Andy B Franke is metal as fuck ... Only now discovering Brainstorm
|
Just ordered Iced Earth's Festivals of the Wicked DVD. Three live concerts and a documentary. Gonna be sweet.

I know nobody cares about power metal anymore, but I just wanted to post this. Sounds like they sort of went for the Horror Show era sound here. It'd be great if that'll be the general style Dystopia. This is a really good track, imo. Also, they recently re-recorded Dante's Inferno and it's face-meltingly awesome. |
the dante's inferno re-record was a giant waste of time imo
new song is alright, there are dead periods in the song which can't be carried through just holding a chord, but it's IE wish Ripper was on this album though, sounds like something he would kill |
other than the high stuff it hardly even sounds like block singing
|
Dude has reinvented his voice.
And the new Dante's Inferno slays, tbh. I mean, it can't beat the old version, but still. |
it was the same thing with slightly worse vocals, I get it as a sampler for stu but there's nothing in it for me that sets it apart

the only power metal ive come across recently is the new Stormwarrior album and it was decent. not quite at the level of awesomeness as Heading Northe

NEW IICEDEARTH LEAKDED AAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@!1 |
it's really terrible
|
Ugh, band X hasn't completely reinvented itself into a way that satisfies my completely unrealistic expectations, and the new album, Y, isn't even the most innovating thing ever, it's soo terrible!
|
you're going to go that way with it, are you?
I really enjoy all IE albums up until their last album where they not only stagnated, they forgot to write riffs, hooks and song structures which aren't identical they weren't exactly known for innovation for their first 8 albums, but nice assumptions bro |
Lol, reading that back now makes me realise that was a bit of a dick-post of me.
Framing Armageddon and (especially) The Crucible of Man were pretty bad albums, I agree. I think Dystopia is finally a step in the right direction again. It's not nearly as good as some of their best material, but to say it's terrible is too much. If this wasn't an IE album, but a debut from another band, people would hail it as being fucking amazing. |
it's crucible of man redux almost exactly for me. They sound like the same album with a (slightly) different lead singer.
No memorable songs, Stu Block is held back a huge amount and it just lacks intensity. I mean even a song like 10,000 Strong from a few albums back had some power and drive, and it just seems to have disappeared over these last 2 albums. |
Couldn't that (in part) be due to the production too, though? I personally think this album is way overproduced, and generally feel that overproduced albums tend to make things sound sterile.
|
maybe but I don't notice anything huge from Framing Armageddon which I actually like a decent amount
but then ripper is awesome so he could have hidden a lot of faults |
