Have you heard Vital Remains new cd? Its terrible.
No kidding. I listened to somewhere around two songs then shut it off. I used to love Dechristianize. I still like it, but not as much. It's a good listen every now and then. Very repetitive, but solid.
Dave Suzuki played them but they were sped up afterwards.
Really? That's pathetic. |
Thats very stupid. I think less of these guys now. Its like having fake drums.
Because Dead by Dawn is one of the most metal ****ing riffs on the planet. BOO HOO! PEOPLE LIEK THAT SONG MORE THAN I DO!!
To be honest though, I think highly of every song on their s/t I just happen to like Dead by Dawn the most, and if that's what most people think, then oh well. Lots of people think that Slayer's best song is Raining Blood, but I think it's At Dawn They Sleep, no need to get "pissed off" about.
i wasn't seriously pissed off more of an "internet pissed off" if you know what i mean. you cant really show emotion on here. but everyone likes that song more than lunatic, which i think has a cooler riff than DBD. a lot of people who choose "raining blood" as their favorite song have never heard the full album or any other albums from slayer. kids at my school only know angel of death and raining blood. i asked a kid yesterday (the one thats in the "viking metal" band, but has never heard any black metal whatsoever) who was wearing the RIB shirt to name two songs from it other than angel and raining. his excuse was "my limewire doesn't tell me the tracks when i d/l" my favorite slayer track is probably piece by piece. |
Well as long as you aren't getting your undies in a twist over your tastes differing from the majority.
I think I need to give this backyard mortuary a listen. They're described as "brutal" death metal... bleh. |
im actually going commando right now.
i am obsessed with the outro section on "dead soul" from slumber of sullen eyes, i think its around 3:12, great way to end the song i rediscovered amorphis, i guess they are death/doom but tales from the 1000 lakes is excellent stuff, i dont know why i didn't like it the first time.
I think I need to give this backyard mortuary a listen. They're described as "brutal" death metal... bleh.
same. |
I haven't listened to that album in a looooooong time.
EDIT- So I'm listening to the first song called Beyond The Grave, and yeah I'm 1:30 into it and this main riff is so damn boring. EDIT- So the song is about over, the solo was boring, and I can pretty much say this song is worthless. Hopefully the next songs will be better. |
Okay I know it's not that new, but I've been listening to the new Immolation and it's fantastic.
|
Cheaters.
So do they play the songs slower live, or find someone who's actually good?
Well for being just a drummer on the side, I think he's pretty damn good, unless they were recorded at like 100bpm. |
**** this demo, Backyard Mortuary blows.
Okay so Cannibal Corpse Eats Moscow Alive is done uploading. Who ever else wants this post your emails and I'll give you the link. So after listening to Buried in the Backyard, I've decided I must learn how to play this song. |

**** that! Anyone except you.
j/k. Actually I don't think my email is working, usually it gives me a little notice in the corner of my desktop saying that the mail has been sent, but when I tried to send it to FatalEnergy, I noticed that the notice never came up. So I'm just going to put in your guys' rep just for backup. |
why is that everyone's favorite song on that album? it almost pisses me off for some reason how everyone picks dead by dawn as their favorite.
[contrary]I prefer Carnage in the Temple of the Damned and Sacrificial Suicide[/contrary] And my favourite Slayer song is "The Antichrist" Jondur: going against popular opinion since 1977 |

So do they play the songs slower live, or find someone who's actually good? The opening fill to "Hammer Down the Nails" doesn't sound real at all.
Here's a little clue for the ill informed people such as yourself who still live in a delusional fantasy world ... 90% of all metal drums are edited in a major fashion after the initial recording. Nearly all the time, sound replacement is used, especially in faster metal, and yes, there are tempo changes. It's practically essential to get a good clean recording these days. Sorry to bring your world crashing down. |
thanks for the info bra

The drummers still play most of their songs at actual tempo live, so they're still pretty impressive. The drums on Vital Remains' Icons of Evil just sound much more fake than other bands. |
[contrary]I prefer Carnage in the Temple of the Damned and Sacrificial Suicide[/contrary]

Seriously though, I fucking hate it when people are all like "blah blah blah this band cheats when recording, this band triggers, this band's drums don't sound real, this band cheats". It's completely stupid. EVERY band does that these days---it's almost impossible to avoid; some engineers just are able to make it more subtle and do it to a lesser extent. It's not the band's fault; it's the type of music and the engineers.
|
Solution: listen to death metal from before triggers were used.
|
Triggers =/= "cheating"
And yes, that is a solution. |
And that's why it's not nearly as clean. But that's not the point.
If you are going to listen to modern DM, don't bitch about the editing or production. It's par for the course. |
And that's why it's not nearly as clean. But that's not the point.
Precisely. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that death metal isn't SUPPOSED to be clean. |
Solution: Don't listen to Nile.
Couldn't have said it better myself. :thumb: |
But most bands today want a tighter, cleaner sound, and so do the fans. But then the fans turn around and bitch about the editing and production, so we as engineers can't fucking win.
So as I said, if you want to listen to modern metal, don't bitch about the production. Dargon: I completely agree, but sadly, most people don't think that way. |
i actually dont care what the drums sounds like in the mix, just that the drumming doesnt suck...
|
Dargon: I completely agree, but sadly, most people don't think that way.
Definitely, a major reason Behemoth sucks is because they sound so clean. owayte |
Demigod and The Apostasy were awesome.
|
Haha, nice one.
Regardless, I enjoy the music... |
idk, i can't imagine hearing alot of behemoth's recent work with a less polished sound.
|
i actually dont care what the drums sounds like in the mix, just that the drumming doesnt suck...
That's me with just about everything. It takes a lot for me not to like a certain tone or sound. |
