Jom, or anyone for that matter, how long will it take for my first review on Sputnik to receive mod approval?
You need mod approval for a first review?

Deth 01-04-2006 08:20 PM

It said that for mine, but it went straight up.

Ace_of_Bass2112 01-04-2006 08:20 PM

Evening, all.

What's new in MX land?

Jom 01-04-2006 08:32 PM

It takes as long as it takes for us to review it and make sure it's a legit review. You have no idea how many reviews we've rejected (between Med, Damrod, and myself, and I've only had this gig for a bit) because they were so unsatisfactory.

So, since your review didn't suck, I put it through the queue.

jpj 01-04-2006 08:35 PM
So, since your review didn't suck, I put it through the queue.
Well, I'm flattered :)

Jom 01-04-2006 08:39 PM

Honest to God, I had this for an album review:
this album sux & so does Curt Kobain [note: I swear to you, that's exactly how it was written] u kno what had more brains than Curt Kobain? the wall behind him lol
It was seriously three sentences long and made a repetitive Nirvana joke.

So, you can imagine why I didn't put that one through the queue, aside from there being 20834502832 reviews for that album already.

jpj 01-04-2006 08:45 PM

 It's stuff like that that makes me glad I'm not a mod. At least idiots are good for a laugh.

I didn't think the mods would actual read the entire thing. I figured they just like spot checked it.

Jom 01-04-2006 08:49 PM

When I have a chance (which is pretty often), I go through the in-queue reviews and do a spell check and grammar check. I then leave them for the other guys to put through or reject.

But, I also get to decide first-time reviews' fates when they're not around :-D

The 40 Year Old Virgin is really too long for what it is. So long, in fact, that even it's having Catherine Keener cannot keep me awake any longer, and I'm turning it off.

I sat through King Kong easily, though. In an uncomfortable cinema, too. It was only when the planes at the end flew around for a little too long that I realised I'd already been there for 180 minutes.

Ace_of_Bass2112 01-04-2006 09:33 PM

you know how i know your gay. your dick taste like shit

Gilmour 01-04-2006 09:41 PM

I enjoyed 40 year old Virgin. But when it comes to being funny, the new version of The Producers blows it away. They made the smallest things in there hilarious, like Leo's nervous breakdowns.

That is my favorite part of the movie

Anyway, for the past couple of days everytime I hear a song in my head the word 'man' is inexplicably replaced with 'mang.' I think I want to die.

NP: Ryan Adams - 29
I can't stop saying mang. :(

MidnightRider 01-05-2006 01:50 AM

I hear you DMV, if USC would have won I would have to hear it from my bandwagon jumping friends the rest of the year.

TojesDolan 01-05-2006 02:16 AM

Yeah so talking about queues, I trimmed a little bit the "Death",, you know, the band, the little text that goes above the whole reviews thing because it was obviously a copy-paste.

It needs another trim, though, but I'll have to check it once it passes the queue.

Why would having Catherine Keener be such a good thing?

I enjoyed that film, anyway, it was good.

Oh my! The mod power is overwhelming!
Sputnik is expanding at a frightening pace. Seriously, a week ago people were complaining that there'd only been one or two submissions on a certain day. Today alone there's been about thirty, four of which I've read.
I've recently started going to Sputnik and I'm kind of disappointed both about the amount of (underground) metal reviews and the amount of comments in general.

i am the robots 01-05-2006 07:50 AM

Sputnik is just painful in all seriousness, people comment on things they've never heard and act like they're experts...
Hay Guyz 8,000 Lol!

I never went in college . Java is too boring

Kingofdudes 01-05-2006 09:05 AM

Right now im in C++, and my "teacher" just got around to teaching loops(We have less than a week left in this class.

kurrpt 01-05-2006 09:20 AM
