I'll go with you Cb!
*hops on the Buddycopter*
I gave my parents this epic speech today about how I need to go. "This show was made just for me. The pinnacle of my life is right in front of me and I'm reaching out to grab it but I can't." Then came the crying, etc. |
Hahaha, you cried for it? So what'd they say?
My dad would maybe let me go cause he would to Chinatown or some shit. But I don't think my mom is down with it.
I remember those days. Being 18 and having a license and a job rules.
Maybe I should steal my parents car!
Having a license to my mom still means I need permission to ask to go places. The price I pay for her covering my gas expenses.

Hasn't this thread taught you anything? Real men steal their own cars. |
Happy 300th page everybody!!!!!
This is probably the biggest thread still generally on the same topic.

Speeeech!!! Speeech!!!

The breakdown of a song tends to be a part where all of the instruments slow down and play some sort of repeating riff. In hardcore, it's not that obvious to tell when the breakdown is, but in metalcore, it's quite obvious. Everything dramatically slows down and you get this dun dun dun dun (or jud jud jud--whichever you prefer) sound from the guitars... usually it goes into a neener neener after... during most breakdowns you can find yourself nodding your head as if you were listening to hip hop. that's probably not that great of an answer, but listen to "Red Wedding" by the Bled for an example of a breakdown in metalcore... listen to "all in a year" or "changing face" by Comeback Kid for an example of a breakdown in hardcore. |
Someone should tab out Wake The Dead.

I have the intro tabbed if you want.
I would like that very much.

Okay, it's going to come out messy, so just copy + paste onto Notepad.
Guitar 1 Eb|-----------------------------------------------------------| Bb|-----------------------------------------------------------| Gb|-7-------77-------5-------10------333332000----3333320002b-| Db|-x000000-xx000000-x000000-x000000----------333-------------| Ab|-5000000-55000000-3000000-8000000--------------------------| Db|--000000---000000--000000--000000--------------------------| Guitar 2 Eb|-----------------------------------------------------------| Bb|-----------------------------------------------------------| Gb|-7-------77-------9-------10-------------------------------| Db|-x000000-xx000000-x000000-x000000-888888888888-33333333333-| Ab|-5000000-55000000-7000000-8000000-888888888888-33333333333-| Db|--000000---000000--000000--000000-888888888888-33333333333-| Guitars 1 + 2 Eb|-----| Bb|-3---| Gb|-2---| Db|-0---| Ab|-----| Db|-----| |
Confusing to play.
Copy it to notepad, it'll look simpler. The tunings a bit of a bitch, but just try it in Drop D to see how it sounds.
What do the X's mean in the first note.
I've figured out the whole thing... the intro is all octaves...
You mute that string but hit the A and the G string.
ahh rights it's coming along ok now. I've had trouble learning most CBK songs i try to play.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's right, the verse is easy to figure, just some fast progressions.
If I read that correctly, I play it a little differently. I have that much done, to lazy to do the rest.
The first chords before the open ones I don't play octaves, just after it. Give a minute and I'll do my verison. |

All In A Year is an easy one. |
eb|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Bb|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Gb|-7------------5-----------10-10--12-12---15-15-15-14-12-10-10-10---15-15-15-14-12-14--| Db|-x-0-0-0-0--x-0-0-0-0--x--x---x--x-------x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x---------x--x--x--x--x--x--| Ab|-5-0-0-0-0--3-0-0-0-0--8--8---10-10---13-13-13-12-10-8--8--8-----13-13-13-12-10-12--| Db|---0-0-0-0----0-0-0-0--------------------------------------------------------------| Play the 5x7 0000 part twice. After listening again Cb is right with the octaves. |
