Yeah, there is no denying that.

Lord Abortion 12-10-2006 08:23 AM

The Misery by Sonata Arctica is one of the best songs EVER

pate 12-10-2006 09:20 AM

I've never been able to like them. I believe I am the only person on the planet who is not in love with them.

Shattered_Future 12-10-2006 12:02 PM

Well, you fail then.

I didn't like Rhapsody's new album one bit. Too slow.

CaptainWaits 12-10-2006 06:07 PM

I agree. Sounds a lot like Turilli's solo material too, which I find to be pretty terrible.

I've got a quick question....is Angra's "Rebirth" a really good album, or how good is it??

Nope, you're not alone. I had one album which I never got into much, so I deleted it.

Yes, it is indeed very good. Get it.

Iron Bars 12-11-2006 02:58 AM

I have heard some Sonata Arctica but never found them more then just over avarage.

/Starts listening to Firewind again.

MetalOz 12-12-2006 07:02 AM

Kamelot!

I just got One Cold Winter's Night. It is really good. The live version of the songs are great and there are guest appearanes from Thomas Youngblood's wife doing the female vocals on some songs, Simone Simons of Epica does her parts on The Haunting, Snowy Shaw does Shagrath's parts on March of Mephisto, and Sascha Paeth makes an appearance playing guitar on one song as well. They have 3 live backup vocalists (so much cooler than samples). Apparently the keyboardist, Oliver Palotai is now officialy part of the band (and damn good) I still haven't checked out the 2nd disc...

/breaks out entire discography to re-listen

pate 12-12-2006 08:49 AM

That sounds awesome!

I still roffle at Snowy doing vocals in Therion. It's almost like if they got Nicko McBrain to replace Tarja :lol:

EDIT: Thing is, his vocals are completely awesome.

Shattered_Future 12-12-2006 02:23 PM

I like Snowy regardless of what he's doing. He could be playing triangle, for ****s sake, and he'd still make it one of the most metal triangle parts ever.

Kamelot has a live DVD? Sweeeet.

And I like Turilli's solo work. Up until his new album, it sounded like Rhapsody knockoff music, but the new one is a bit different and still just as good.

Snowy does the vocals on the new Therion album? [Is news to me if the answer is "yes"]

pate 12-12-2006 03:51 PM

...............yes. :p

ArcLite 12-12-2006 04:05 PM

I'm assuming you aquired a leak then and the album owns?

Deth 12-12-2006 04:43 PM

What Kamelot album should I look for? I've been meaning to buy one. Or should I go with the new live album? I do love live albums.

pate 12-12-2006 05:53 PM
I'm assuming you aquired a leak then and the album owns?
Yeah, it leaked two or three weeks ago. It's excellent.

Iron Bars 12-12-2006 05:54 PM
I'm assuming you aquired a leak then and the album owns?
I've been listening to it non stop for 3 weeks now. It's amazing. We could basicly skip this years top albums and just call the new Therion album of the new year.

NP: Therion - Three Treasures

pate 12-12-2006 05:55 PM

I wouldn't go that far, but I would put it in at least the top 15 of the year.

I think Epica is my favorite but they really don't have a bad album. Although Eternity and Dominion have a different singer and I very much prefer Khan on vocals...

pate 12-12-2006 06:26 PM

Khan is amazing.

My favorite is The Black Halo.

ArcLite 12-12-2006 07:57 PM

I also like Nothing Ever Dies, and March of Mephisto is a killer opener.

Mother 12-13-2006 01:44 PM

Manigance - L'ombre Et La Lumière Hands down has one of the best Intros ever.

Shattered_Future 12-13-2006 03:22 PM

I personally love The Black Halo the most. That's probably one of the best American power metal (hell, power metal) releases period ever.

New Therion is covered in a heaping helping of ownagesauce. I love the more almost progish feel to it.

pate 12-13-2006 07:55 PM

Khan is amazing.

As is new Therion.

shadow_stalker 12-19-2006 11:35 AM

So... i got Tarot's 'to live again' album and it owns almost all live albums ever released (except for Maiden's rock in rio). So, what tarot album you think i should get next (btw i already have suffer our pleasure)

Stormrider 12-19-2006 12:59 PM

I only have their new one, Crows Fly Black, which is very good.

I'de have to reget Suffer our Pleasures.

Shattered_Future 12-19-2006 04:06 PM

Crows Fly Black is a ridiculously badass album. Sadly, I don't have anything else by the band, save a couple of tracks from Stigmata.

Oh, and I have Suffer Our Pleasures. Which is ALSO a ridiculously badass album.

ArcLite 12-19-2006 04:15 PM

I've been meaning to check Tarot out for wuite awhile, but I can't ever seem to find any of their stuff on Soulseek.

Stormrider 12-19-2006 04:55 PM

Yeah, I was really impressed by the album. Unlike when I first listened to Suffer Our Pleasures :-/
