fraid not, i tried to learn ages ago but i soon gave up when i got my guitar :D
sorry though |
Hahah, school. I finished at 12:30 today.
But no. I have no idea about programming. Sorry. |
Crap, I really need some help with it.
I just started learning it the other day, but it's pretty freakin' hard. |
Hey people, I'm at school.
Is anyone here good at programming? Java, in particular.
What doya wanna know?? /me studied computers before going to conservatory... ;) /me is also still in school |
yeah, i gave up really quickly. i thought "how hard can this be?" hah!
|
What doya wanna know??
/me studied computers before going to conservatory... ;) /me is also still in school
Cool. :thumb: I need to write a program in java that reads a string and tells you whether or not it is a palindrome. Basically, I have no idea what I'm doing. |
what's a palindrome??
I think that's a prerequiste to write the program... |
A palindrome is a word written the same forwards and backwards.
As in: racecar 12321 They are the same both ways. |
elkaptain: yes, i believe she missed me :p i love her...:D
|
OK... basically this should be the steps, Just check the API for the real commands... don' t know m by head
1) for (int i=0, i < string.length, i++) { char[i] = takechar(string, i); } 2) string2 = "" for (int i=char.length, i >= 0, i--) { string_2 += char[i]; } 3) if (string = string2) { palindrome found code } else { palindrome not found code } Good luck! This should be the basic thinking, which you should be able to translate to Java. I'll be back in like 5 minutes for more questions... Ronald |
elkaptain: yes, i believe she missed me :p i love her...:D
 |
Awesome, I will try it when I get home, which will be very shortly.
If I need more help, I will ask. Thank you! |
you are just jealus becouse you and your bass dont have the same relationship as me and Geddina! :naughty: |
Yo Spiff... just thought it' s easier tis way:
for (i=string.length, i>=0, i--) { string2 += string.CharAt(i); } if (string=string2) then found code else not found code just check the API for the correct syntaxis... Ronald |
you are just jealus becouse you and your bass dont have the same relationship as me and Geddina! :naughty:
true, i have felt for a long time now that my bass wants to have an afair with someone with talent |
*pats* you'll make your relationship work out. a few hammer-ons and pull-offs is all she needs.
|
bassi3/Ronald, if I sent you the program would be able to help more?
I'm not trying to get you to do all my school work, it's just that I'm a beginner and need some help. :thumb: |
true, i have felt for a long time now that my bass wants to have an afair with someone with talent

bassi3/Ronald, if I sent you the program would be able to help more?
I'm not trying to get you to do all my school work, it's just that I'm a beginner and need some help. :thumb:
Probably yes, don't know which program (coffeecup or something like that??) you're running, but I should come a long way... I'm now still @ school, but I'm leaving to rehearsel in 5 minutes or so, and I won't be home till like midnight (Dutch time). So I don't know when yer assignment is due, but if that's OK with you, you can mail the code and the assignment to ronald@feanor.nl I'm running linux @ home, so it's best to send plain code (Just save it as a .js file or so). Cheers! See y'all tonight! Ronald |
Everyone except me ;) I really don't feel talented. I feel average. Especially for how long I've been playing. I don't need to be better for what I do at the moment, but I want to be, and I can never write anything...
|
