Like that one that Stuart Spector made?

Im sure the wood was either 5000 or 50,000 years old. The bass is worth tons.

Isn't the million dollar CT bass made from dinosaur-y woods?

neal_672 02-22-2005 03:26 PM

'Sup homies?

gaslight 02-22-2005 03:27 PM

Hadn't heard of it, whats the tone like with dinosaur wood?

gaslight 02-22-2005 03:27 PM

Not much, orientation day for me today at my music uni place.

You?

neal_672 02-22-2005 03:29 PM

Not a great deal, college, work then did an English Literature essay.

Am i the only one that finds chopping down an ancient tree just to make a guitar a tad selfish? I don't know why but if it's been around for such an immeasurable amount of time i just think it should be allowed to continue living, i probably wouldn't think about it if the bass was mine though so meh *shrugs shoulders*

So I was looking for a nice example of quilted maple with a transparent finish, and I remembered that a friend of mine has an absolutely gorgeous guitar with a fine finish. So, I went on the Ed Roman website, wandered over to the Quicksilver gallery, looking for one like it. Straight away, I find a picture of his guitar - his particular guitar, listed as being sold to Brian Davies, who is his dad. So yay! I succeeded!

Check out this terrifyingly nice guitar.

I like, wouldn't actually do it lol :p.

That brings up an interesting point though, are people who are like ultra-ultra vegan, allowed to play instruments made of wood? Or does "living thing" not extend to plants for them?

Spaceman Spiff 02-22-2005 03:37 PM

That is a pretty nice guitar.

And are there any other pros coming to visit any time in the near future to answer question?
I know there was a list of 5 or 6 or something, but there has been no word on it since then.

Wow... that guitar is so sexy. It's like, beyond sexy, it's actually beautiful. Like, I wouldn't feel right playing it if I hadn't taken it to dinner first.

The acoustic looks like Flamed Maple to me.

mambogangsta 02-22-2005 03:43 PM

I've seen sexy-er guitars...

It plays like a dream. I'm no guitarist, but I can knock out the odd powerchord. But that thing is great - really low action, but a very clean sound, and so responsive... the second you fret a note you get a feeling that you aren't worthy of it.

bottlerocket 02-22-2005 03:48 PM

Please (directed at BV mainly, but to all of you), don't give me a hard time now. Not the best time. Don't ask why, just please don't flame me or do anything to upset me. You'll notice I haven't been around much.

What's on tap for today?

ja i thought so - i still wnat to know how they get bursts on guitars and basses, cos one of my goals is to build my own bass, but apart from staining and lacquering it before the protective coating, i cant think how i could make a colour othewr than natural or a solid colour - but those are boring

Darn, some people took the Blink 182 thread too seriously, and it's been closed.
:(

I wasn't done having fun in there. :upset:
