I don't know what LT is, but I've had 8 classes using AutoCAD. And I've never had that problem.
I've been using AutoCAD for close to 7 years now, and this is the first time it ever happened to me.

LT is the $500 as opposed to the $3,000 version. Basically LT has all the ridiculousness cut out and just the stuff that most people use. Like there is no 3D modeling on it.

pate 10-05-2007 03:29 PM

Ahh...I have that version. Mine works just fine...so far, that is.

We've got the same experience with ACAD. h5 :p
Are you around him right now?

If so you could ask him if he has had a problem with receiving a fatal error when he tries to go into the layer properties manager.
hes in new jersey =/

The real question is do you do it for a job? If not, you should because drafting is by far the best job I ever had, I mean I am at work right now.

pate 10-05-2007 03:44 PM

I'm studying to become a civil engineer, so it will be a part of my job. I really love using ACAD. I could sit and use it forever.

gmoneyguy 10-05-2007 03:51 PM

Me too, although I am studying to be an Architect.

I work for an Architect. I can surf the web, listen to music, and draw while receiving 3 credit hours and being paid.

pate 10-05-2007 03:52 PM

That's awesome. I want to work with you.

Kage 10-05-2007 03:54 PM

Pate you build a bridge and I will shoot a film on it, deal?

gmoneyguy 10-05-2007 03:57 PM
That's awesome. I want to work with you.
We could jam out to metal and create stuff.

pate 10-05-2007 04:02 PM

It would be epic and metal and epic metal engineering architecture. \m/
Pate you build a bridge and I will shoot a film on it, deal?
I'm in. How big are we talking?

Angmar 10-05-2007 04:31 PM

I'm in CAD, working with Rhino

My dad teaches the class =/

Shattered_Future 10-05-2007 04:36 PM

AES was sweet. All the stuff there I had no idea what it was (figures), but we watched this special presentation on Geoff forgot his last name, the guy who engineered Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

They showed clips from that BBC special about the 40th anniversary of the album and all the bands that wanted to rerecord covers of the songs, and how they could barely do it cause they had to record on 4 track instead of ProTools.

Best part was when Geoff took questions, this British guy came up and said, "Were you the one who had the Kaiser Chiefs do this? Cause they were bloody HORRIBLE."

That was actually seriously cool.

Kage 10-05-2007 04:38 PM

hm?

Equus 10-05-2007 04:40 PM
They showed clips from that BBC special about the 40th anniversary of the album and all the bands that wanted to rerecord covers of the songs, and how they could barely do it cause they had to record on 4 track instead of ProTools.
well its not like the beatles recorded on just one four track machine either

Shattered_Future 10-05-2007 04:40 PM

AES = Audio Engineering Society. Their 123rd convention was held at the Javits Center and goes until Sunday. My dad played a gig there and since he knows the chairman, we scored free VIP passes, which would normally cost about 400 bucks.

It's all detailed in an earlier post of mine.

Elim: Yeah, but the fact that they recorded part of it live threw the Kaiser Chiefs for a loop.

Tyler 10-05-2007 09:08 PM

It's also my only band shirt.

gmoneyguy 10-05-2007 09:14 PM

Nile is poopoo imo.

I have kind of grown out wearing band Tees.

MY only band shirt is ITDS. :p

publicastration 10-05-2007 09:17 PM

I'm going to get Ulver and Battle of Mice shirts soon.

But yeah I'm not heavily into band shirts, the odd one is cool now and then though.

Tyler 10-05-2007 09:17 PM

Band shirts are pretty fugly. I only wear my Red Chord one and my PTH one that says PROTEST THIS with an arrow pointing down. And I only wear that one when I'm feeling lke a 12 year old.

Sometimes I wear my DEP one but it's huge.

Permanent Solution 10-05-2007 09:17 PM

There's like 4 cool things I could do tonight and I'm thinking of stying t home, I'm such a loser :(

edit: I have about 60 band shirts =|

gmoneyguy 10-05-2007 09:18 PM

I would mos def wear an Ulver shirt.

NP: Bloodbath - Cancer of the Soul.

pbbt. whats cooler than geekin' out on your computer with other computer geeks?

what are your options? If getting wasted and beatin' up some poon is an effect of one of said options, then you should do that. Don't be lame.

gmoneyguy 10-05-2007 09:20 PM

Staying at home is cool ever once and a while. I typically do that Sundays. Football \m/
