Record labels are the best scams ever cause none realizes that they're being robbed cause the label is helping them get exposure

well yes and no

labels do take too much from the bands for the work, but the labels also pay for the production, studio time, even equipment at times, and the exposure is definitely worth it if a band gets big enough, cause who cares about record sales when you have merch. scene kids love merch.

Merch is awesome if it looks good if it's just the unreadable band name logo then it's gay and you just wasted 20-35 bucks

Hi, I'm a semi-professional recording artist working under contract as well and I also download music. I can guarantee most bands these days working under the title of "metal", "hardcore" or "punk" do not make any sort of living off of their recordings unless they're super-huge like say, Lamb of God. That's just the way the industry is. Welcome to the music business, Matt.

I'm not worried about the business aspects of it at all. As long as I'm touring and playing music I'm a happy camper. That's all that matters to me.

Yah. I downloaded it when it first came out. It was cool, but I never really got into it.

Frail Words Collapse was one of the first 'metalcore' albums I listened to, so I have a strong attachment to it.
