Haven't heard of them, but I love the Chasm so I'll investigate accordingly.
I repped you a link for their full length. Very solid stuff.

:)
This Backyard Mortuary tape is ****ing sick. Suprisingly, the way to filter through tons of bad death metal is just to buy some old-school tapes. Definitely recommended.
What do they sound like?

Nostalgia 09-25-2007 10:38 PM

They have pretty solid production, and for tape quality it's definitely good. Songs are short, not a lot of excessive blasts, mid-paced to fast vocal pace, and some pretty interesting riffs. For an album that was made in 2005, a still very old-school sound is apparent.

FatalEnergy 09-25-2007 10:40 PM
I found it on DC++ but it's all the songs combined into one mp3 file. Well, no they're separated into 2 different mp3 files labeled Part I and Part II.

If you want, seeing as I'm interested in this, I've seen some vids of it on youtube, I can email it to you?

-ugh! what the ****... it's not mp3 it's the video of the whole concert, mpg format. Sometimes I suck at reading. Well anyway, the offer is still available.
That would be awesome man. I could extract the audio from it and make mp3s.

my email is galactic_leyline@hotmail.com

Ah, sounds cool. I'll be looking into them then.

Nostalgia 09-25-2007 10:46 PM

Ken just found it on DC++, so tell him, lol.

Bazarov 09-25-2007 10:53 PM

DC++ is awesome. You can find pretty much anything on there.

Yeah Poofy, if you want I'll hook you up.

And Bret, yeah, I'll email it to you when it's done, this **** is taking forever to download though. Should be sometime tomorrow.

Poofy 666 09-25-2007 10:54 PM

hmm ok mang

i dont have dc++ anymore though

i just got a new computer since my old one died out on me a while back

Bazarov 09-25-2007 10:56 PM

Poofy 666 09-25-2007 10:57 PM

eh its ok i guess
im not on my computer as much anyways

publicastration 09-25-2007 11:04 PM

So after all the urging to give Deicide's selftitled another listen I did, only to hate it more.

Nostalgia 09-25-2007 11:16 PM

Now that's failing.

Bazarov 09-25-2007 11:25 PM

Dead by dawn!
Now that's failing.
Not especially. I don't enjoy the S/T nearly as much as Scars or Redemption.

Not everyone is required to love that album, you know.

FatalEnergy 09-25-2007 11:55 PM

Scars blows so much.

re: the dc++ discussion on the last page;

what are some good dc++ metal hubs, aside from grindstuff and metalpunk?

Bazarov 09-26-2007 01:34 AM

those are the main 2 that I use. But I found the Backyard Mortuary on a hub called [..::-|-_METAL

Usually though if those 2 don't give me what I want, I just type in metal in the filter for hubs and just search the different ones it gives me.

What do you think guys? :)

yeah, that's basically what i do too, i was just curious if there were any other large ones, but i guess our current method is what works the best.

actually that doesn't surprise me that much but where the hell do you find tapes like that? where i live we dont have shops that sell that kind of stuff...
Dead by dawn!
why is that everyone's favorite song on that album? it almost pisses me off for some reason how everyone picks dead by dawn as their favorite.

a tip of the cap to you fatal energy.

Bazarov 09-26-2007 09:14 AM

Because Dead by Dawn is one of the most metal ****ing riffs on the planet. BOO HOO! PEOPLE LIEK THAT SONG MORE THAN I DO!!

To be honest though, I think highly of every song on their s/t I just happen to like Dead by Dawn the most, and if that's what most people think, then oh well. Lots of people think that Slayer's best song is Raining Blood, but I think it's At Dawn They Sleep, no need to get "pissed off" about.

Aakon_Keetreh 09-26-2007 09:58 AM

Ghouls writes such good riffs. I love them.

Thor 09-26-2007 10:02 AM

Vital Remains > Deicide

Aakon_Keetreh 09-26-2007 10:04 AM

Deicide > Vital Remains

Have you heard Vital Remains new cd? Its terrible.

Thor 09-26-2007 10:07 AM

I thought Benton had a great vocal performance, despite the songs being a bit too long. Deicide just never did it for me.

The title track, however, is ****ing amazing. The lead riff at 1:13 is one of the best I've ever heard.

Aakon_Keetreh 09-26-2007 10:09 AM

But its so boringgggggg

Thor 09-26-2007 10:10 AM

A few of the songs were, but for the most part I was a fan of it.

The drums were programmed, right?

Apocalyptic Raids 09-26-2007 10:12 AM

Dave Suzuki played them but they were sped up afterwards.

Thor 09-26-2007 10:12 AM

Cheaters.

So do they play the songs slower live, or find someone who's actually good?

The opening fill to "Hammer Down the Nails" doesn't sound real at all.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-26-2007 10:13 AM

They have a touring drummer, since Suzuki is also the band's guitarist.

Thor 09-26-2007 10:14 AM

Oh, right. I knew that. A former drummer from the band The Faceless played for them live.

gotta get back to class. later
