Yeah, I never even bothered with Enterprise. I saw one episode, and thought "Geez, could they have hired worse actors?"

And yeah, doesn't Nemesis follow the rule of even-number movies?
Actually, the odd-numbered ones are the ones that tend to be regarded as mediocre and/or stinkers. See: Star Trek I, Star Trek V, Star Trek: Generations, and Insurrection.

The even-numbered ones are, for comparison, Wrath of Khan (II) Voyage Home (IV), number VI (whatever title that one had) and First Contact, which all pretty much owned. (IMO of course)
And a random thought: Once you become a steady Star Trek actor, you are pretty much set for life. Also, you're mostly going to be type-cast for life, also.
That's probably the biggest reason why Patrick Stewart, a Shakespearean (sp?) actor par excellence, continues to accept paychecks to do them. :)

Wrath of Kan had Ricardo Montalbon in it, though. That automatically gives it 6 stars on IMDb.

It's a shame I only have the Picard song on my other computer, and can't find it here. I suddenly really want to listen to it.

Steerpike 01-17-2006 07:46 PM

Did you guys ever hear the Banned on Vulcan album by the Goth artist, Voltaire?

Lord Abortion 01-17-2006 07:52 PM

I'll ask Jessica, she's a Voltiare fan.

(that's evilmenhavenosongs, for the unenlightened)

Oops, I thought Wrath of Khan was the III.

III was Search For Spock.

One of the few good odd-numbers.

Hey guys .

Tell me if you'd get as soured as I did from this situation:

Listening to Peccatum on the bus, a girl turns to me,
Are you listening to Evanesence(sp?)?
Me: No
Her: That sounds like them... who is it?
Me: Peccatum
Her: I've never heard of them, but they sound a lot like Evanesence
Me: OK cool
Her: Can I see your headphones for a listen
Me: OK
*hands over headphones*

She listened to the Moribund Peopel and criticized how it's an Evanesence rip-off and then said that they were ripping-off Atreyu when Isahn started screaming. I decided it was best to just smile and nod.

(sigh) Some people.

Personally, I would have had a little fun by saying, "That begs a question though. Who in their right minds would want to rip off either of those crappy bands?" Just to see the reaction.

blue3 01-17-2006 08:42 PM

Haha. You should've screamed at her or something.

Hahaha, I was thinking something more along the lines of insulting Amy Lee or whatever the whore's name is:

At least Heidi Tveitan doesn't need to use voice modulation to sound like shit, mostly because she can actually sing.
Haha. You should've screamed at her or something.
I should emphasize that this same girl said it sounds like people vomitting when I was listening to Cryptopsy.

I am going to destroy her.

nobodyblossomsforever 01-17-2006 08:48 PM

hey guys.

Who hates Algebra II?
hey guys.

Who hates Algebra II?
I did when I failed it in 9th grade and had to go to summer school.

Riva 01-17-2006 08:50 PM

Why? She has different musical tastes. Get over it.

Sure, you can complain about it. But destroying someone because they dare to not like your music is imbecilic.

It's easy for me, so no, I don't hate it.

Yeah, I hate algebra to. For most people it's not even to hard since I'm only 15. :(

Dude, I can't even destroy people anyhow, the universe wouldn't allow it.

I was kidding when I said that, it just soured me out that she tried to talk about music with me but then compared Peccatum to Atreyu and Evanesence.

WTF?? When i was 15 i had Calculus. Whats wrong with you guys?? Algebra is one of the easiest maths ever!! Just wait until AP Math theories

Sry i don't mean to make fun of you. I'm just pissed now that i had to do calc in 9th grade and from what it looks like around here nobody else does.

Holy crap! She tried to connect with you socially, and instead of trying to correct her in a nice way, you put her down, and hence lost a possible friend (which you already have very few of). Great work, Captain Dumbarse!

I didn't put her down, I just didn't really care anymore. I've had enough cases of trying to correct people and it failing. I talk to her on the bus every day, she's not exactly a friend, and she annoys me sometime. Also, what do you mean I already have very few friends? I don't get where that's coming from...

That is so true, though I've been trying to cut back on the sarcasm and such a little lately because of certain problems it's caused with those who don't get it.

EDIT: Also, just curious, have any of you ever heard of Lilitu? They're freaking great... http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=4072735

You don't even have to be sarcastic. Take for example the last thing I said. That's not sarcastic, it's just ridiculous.

A pyramid has height x cm and a square base whose edges are 3 cm less than twice the height. Find the volume.

True, I have the ridiculous thing down pat, but I tend to be a little too sarcastic.

and Jason, sorry for taking you seriously, I was taken aback by the change in your attitude.

Is the answer in terms of x?

Cain 01-17-2006 09:11 PM

Why all the hate, kiddos?

Just look at my avatar and feel the relaxation that comes after orgasm.

Speaking of which, I'm back from Blues Ensemble (musical orgasm) and I'm off to see my girlfriend (real orgasm). But I shall return, upon which time I will type a very long post, most likely in the Politics forum (masturbation orgasm). See you all then. :)

nobodyblossomsforever 01-17-2006 09:12 PM

Yes.

Lunch 01-17-2006 09:12 PM

Using V=(1/3)(Area of base)(Height) I got for an answer:

V=(1/3)(4x^3-12x^2+9x)

Alright. Let's break this up.

3cm less than twice the height.

That's 2x - 3.

Now, the volume of a rectangular base pyrimid is L * W * H * 1/3

So, we have 2x-3 * 2x-3 * x * 1/3

Therefore V= (2x-3)^2 * x * 1/3 cm

You can take it further if you like. Do you have to solve it also?

It's (2x-3)^2 rather than 2(2x-3).

EDIT: Thankyou. I couldn't figure out why the x and the 3 couldn't sit there then.

Well, that makes it a nice, simple 1/3x(2x-3)^2.
