ok thanks, my dad said jim screams a lot in his songs, is that true?
Not the screaming like we're used to today, but he belts and yells out a lot of those high notes.

Woodstock 10-07-2004 02:45 PM

That song is great, better if you can play it.

Yes! High five *slaps* :thumb:

BludgeonySteve 10-07-2004 04:06 PM

I spam here alot. But when you all sort talking about your height, that's taking it to far. This is for classic rock discussion.
Santana....discuss.
Brilliant guitarist. one of the best players ever. It's a shame that he's only known for a few songs.

Badmoon 10-07-2004 04:09 PM

Shut up skank.

BludgeonySteve 10-07-2004 04:14 PM

Fine, i'm going to see if superpeer will change this thread's title to "The Off Topic Thread #2".
i can play evil ways on bass
I can play that on the drums. My jazz band in middle school played an arrangement of it, filled with drum fills and such. :thumb:

Broken Arrow 10-07-2004 04:51 PM

I used to love Santana. Now I dont like him that much:(

lunch998 10-07-2004 04:51 PM

Yesterday at work I decided I might learn to play the mandolin. I can get a cheap one at musiciansfriend.com with a chord and method book for like 60 bucks.

My mom's cousin was in the Santana band before they hit it big.

He quit because he said it was too much work

LAAAZY

Edit: Badmoon, that's horribly sad, I'm the youngest regular and i'm 5'5.

and i'm still growing.

You're quite the rude person, in time you may come to relise that. Until then work on not being such an idiot like a variety of the other regulars in this thread :)

God ****, anyone else want some

That's the one I was talking about. No one mentions their shoe size here!

Flaminghotchino 10-07-2004 05:10 PM

I can kinda see the revival happening, but me, my family, and most of my friends have always loved classic rock.

I was raised on the beatles and the doors.

Do people not see that there are 389 pages?

Nobody REALLY gets into classic rock. The whole "revival" is kind of a fad.

lunch998 10-07-2004 05:27 PM

The revival, if there is any, is the creation of the annoying Stairway to Heaven kids that go out and buy Zeppelin t-shirts.

MalcolmYoungRock 10-07-2004 05:30 PM

Yeah it's definatly a fad.

It'll be gone in about 4 years..

which I am thankful because I am so GODDAM sick of kids going up to me and saying "I love stairway to heaven" or "I love money!" (DSOTM shirt)

I feel bad for Money. I don't even like Stairway, but Money is a good song. Lucky for me I don't ecounter very many Pink Floyd posers, so I could acutally where a DSOTM shirt to school without that happening to me.

MalcolmYoungRock 10-07-2004 05:34 PM

I loved it when I wore my Doors shirt and a kid goes up to me and says

Who the hell are the doors?

Edit:

Do you know what I love?

When a certain type of music is popular, all of a sudden it's the best thing to happen since sliced bread.

Some guy told me that the guitarist for Korn is better than Eric Clapton.

Kids have NEVER heard of Eric Clapton :amaze:

I am so ashamed..
I loved it when I wore my Doors shirt and a kid goes up to me and says

It's the best when that happens or when people think it's uncool to wear band t-shirts to school.

I also like the "Oh Led Zeppelin. I love that guy."

On the first day of school I wore my The Wall shirt.

I got called loser 15 times!

haha it was great though.

about 4 people asked what the wall was

1 guy even asked the wall? who are they?

clown_phobia 10-07-2004 05:51 PM

lol... i wish i had a "the wall" t-shirt.

i have a question:
what does everyone have against classic rock compilations and greatest hits... etc?
lol... i wish i had a "the wall" t-shirt.

Because things like that put Stairway to Heaven instead of Achilles Last Stand. Often times I will find that some of the best songs aren't on the compilations. Also a new thing with me is that I like having the actual CD and I like to listen to the album in its orginal order.

Plus with bands like Pink Floyd, its sometimes hard to have some songs and not others. For exmaple taking Another Brick In the Wall Part 2 but not the songs around it does not work.

clown_phobia 10-07-2004 05:57 PM

well i was never considering getting a pink floyd compilation. their individual albums are too good. i'm thinking of

the who - then and now
the essential bob dylan

and some others too.

Yeah, on my friends compilation

ABITW then to Comfortably Numb?

What?

But on my zeppelin compilation it has Stairway and Achilles :-D

magicbus 10-07-2004 06:00 PM

I'm pretty sure Echoes is edited so that all the songs blend together. I want to check it out just to see how that sounds. But I really wouldn't buy a Pink Floyd compilation, I'd rather have all their albums.

Same here. Compilations just dont feel right. Kind of like having a burned CD doesnt feel right.
