I pretty much just gave myself a high-5. Somehow, without even trying, I've managed to get the one hot chick at our work whom everyone is trying to get with to come round to my place on Saturday night.

By gum, I've still got it!

Unless this is a bizarre scheme to mug and rob me.

BenJammin 09-28-2009 07:59 AM

Party at your place?

I'll be there.
The SR506 is a solid bass. I rocked mine for about 4 years before more-or-less retiring it.
Yeah man, my SR500 is my work horse and I love it to bits so I've basically settled on the following.

I needed to add to my arsenal a good fretless, a fiver and a sixer and my solution is to first buy either the SR506 or 706 (or any good SR series sixer, depending on what I can find), depending on what price I can get, and for a fretless a Cort B5FL later on.

Alright... I'm not paying for any airfares.

Wanna buy my fretless? I know you do.

gaslight 09-28-2009 08:16 AM

Sorry man if I buy your fretless then I'll still need to get a seperate 5 string :p.

funkyhoney 09-28-2009 08:21 AM

I have no intention of selling it. I just know you like it :p

I'm going to take some good photos tomorrow and clean it in the process. And take photos of the damage; I need to get it restored.
I had a similar issue, but the 1-2mm gap between my pickguard/control plate I can live with. Although my plate does have 1 too many holes in it.
The pickup route on my pickguard didn't fit around the pickup, so I had to route it and make it bigger. Kind looks poopy, though, and I really don't like the gap between the plate and pickguard.
I just got my Schaller strap locks and evidently my bass uses some massive *** screws as it was built 31 years ago. So the screw don't grip... yay.
That's common. Buy some drywall mollies (they're way cheap) and fit them in there. Then the screw will fit in just fine - I've done it to all my basses where the straplock has slipped through and it's never happened again once the mollie was in there.
I'll probably hit up whatever deal I can get on an SR506, maybe an SR706 if I can get a really good deal.
Yeah, check eBay. The 506 had wider spacing, IIRC. I think even my Conklin GT-7 had wider spacing than the SR706.

I've already solved the problem. I bored out the middle of the buttons so the original screws fit through; zing.

Oh I won't be getting anything second hand, I just have shopped at the same music store for years and years and they'll sort me out.

SR506 has 16.5mm spacing at the bridge... don't see it getting much smaller than that, unless requested from a builder (not that my bass has 16mm spacing or anything... >_>).

funkyhoney 09-28-2009 08:44 AM

YAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNN.

Here's a stimulus picture to start conversation.

funkyhoney 09-28-2009 08:50 AM

No? That didn't do it either?

Right...

gaslight 09-28-2009 09:04 AM

Just showing you the door after your stimulus didn't fly .

funkyhoney 09-28-2009 09:08 AM

Just to be clear it's supposed to just be nothing, right?

gaslight 09-28-2009 09:09 AM

That's a fair summation of the guitar forum, yes.

funkyhoney 09-28-2009 09:11 AM

Now I'm even more confused.

Your post shows nothing to me. Yay/Nay?

gaslight 09-28-2009 09:12 AM

It's a link to the guitar forum, nothing shows up?

funkyhoney 09-28-2009 09:14 AM

Not a thing.

gaslight 09-28-2009 09:14 AM

Magic .

funkyhoney 09-28-2009 09:16 AM

So what's the problem with my stimulus package?

I seriously think I know and have had sexual relations with the girl on the right.

Last time I checked you lived in Arizona no?

gaslight 09-28-2009 09:25 AM

People can travel but yeah, would be highly unlikely.

FunkMetalBass 09-28-2009 09:28 AM
Last time I checked you lived in Arizona no?
Yes, but she also traveled a lot. What's her name?

gaslight 09-28-2009 09:30 AM

This would be too awesome.

funkyhoney 09-28-2009 09:32 AM
Yes, but she also traveled a lot. What's her name?
Sarah Jane Pont.

gaslight 09-28-2009 09:33 AM

Funky if this plays out there is only one degree of seperation between you and FMB's penis.
