AMLoR is still a good record, and I stand by that.

I've been listening to Terminal Frost a lot recently, very peaceful. Nice sax solo too.
Agreed. On both accounts. AMLoR is kind of poppy, but it's still a very good album.

Make sure you type in 'Australian Pink Floyd Show'

Josh 09-15-2005 03:47 PM

yey, WMP just cycled up "Us and them", what an amazing song. although my favourite from DSOTM has to be "Time", the lyrics are just so perfect and true.

Prince of Darkness 09-15-2005 03:56 PM

The Aussie Floyd can't even compare with The Real Floyd. but, hey, That's just me.

Lunch 09-15-2005 03:58 PM

I don't think anyone here is comparing them, but no doubt it would be cool to see them.

Ah, thanks. :)

I went to see them last year. Amazing.. simply amazing. My first concert, and man, nothing else even compares. :thumb:

Riva 09-15-2005 04:21 PM

Yeah, I've seen them, and Beyond the Darkside, another Pink Floyd tribute band from Australia. Both concerts were excellent.

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-15-2005 04:32 PM

I'm not sure what to think of Australian Pink Floyd. One one hand, they nail PF's songs down so well and they put on quite a performance, but on the other hand, I don't really have respect for a band that makes a living off being a cover band. Especially when the band is touring so much off other people's songs.

Drop enough acid and you probably couldn't tell the difference.

Here's a serious question though....I realize a lot of people resent drugs and how Pink Floyd is always connected to drug use, but who here honestly wouldn't get stoned for a Pink Floyd concert?

I'd like to think I wouldn't.... although I probably would.

ATM 09-15-2005 04:37 PM

I would be blazed out of my skull.

Lunch 09-15-2005 04:38 PM

I'd like to be feeling something, but I'd also like to remember and consiously enjoy the music too.

I wouldn't...

If my mom was with me

robo2448 09-15-2005 05:22 PM

I wouldn't. I'd really want to savor it and not be under the influence of anything if I saw them.

I'm pretty sure if you went to a Pink Floyd concert while high you would definitely remember and enjoy it. I remember I was going to drink before I went to Alice Cooper, but I decided not to because I wanted to enjoy and remember it fully sober...so I can understand what you are saying. Although marijuana + Pink Floyd >>>> alcohol + Alice Cooper.

Lunch 09-15-2005 06:09 PM

I didn't say I wouldn't smoke, I'd probably smoke a little bit or drink a few beers to get a nice buzz going.

Nothing wrong with that. I definitely wouldn't get really stoned or drunk though, because I'd like to be able to really enjoy the show without being influenced too much by drugs.

Broken Arrow 09-15-2005 06:18 PM

Like this time I was at a music festival and REO Speedwagon came on and me and a couple buddies went througha half-o in an hour, thats when you start to forget things. But yeah I'd definetly do a some.

Broken Arrow 09-15-2005 06:27 PM

Hahaha that's when it gets to the point where you are too lazy to even just open your eyes. You just curl up inside your mind. I love that stage.

That's when I just put on Dark Side of the Moon. That's my burning out album. I'd say Saucerful of Secrets is my starting off album, The Wall fits nicely into the middle, and DSOTM ends it off well. Usually I like to change it up though so I'm not always listening to the same PF albums every day. I went through a phase where I listened to DSOTM every night while laying in bed for about 2 months.

Nice combination you got there.

I'd end with with WYWH, Calm...

BTW, I'm STILL listening to Pigs on the wing 1&2 with solo. It has become one of my favorites. Pity It's so short.

Also on Album it says "A tree full of secrets (disc 6)" What is that?

Kingofdudes 09-15-2005 07:15 PM

Probably the bootleg/rarity CD name

Yeah, I had my eyes closed and I was standing in "the pit", then one of my friends pasted out in "the pit".

A Tree Full of Secrets was a series, if you will, of albums they released with a ton of different stuff. Like solo projects, old stuff before Pink Floyd, a other stuff.

My uncle gave me A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, is this Waters-less album any good?

Terminal Frost
Learning to Fly
Sorrow

are standout songs

dr._feelgood 09-15-2005 09:04 PM

Cool, I'll give it a listen this weekend.
