Can anyone match James Hetfield's (1980's) riffing?
|
Yes. Many.
|
Like who?
|
If you mean in terms of quality... pretty much any thrash band blows them away.
If you mean they actually sound like Metallica, then try Xentrix and Heathen. Which both blow Metallica away. Blistered Earth, too. Come to think of it, what you should be saying is "Can anyone match Mustaine and Exodus' riffing"? I see you guys are getting Time Does Not Heal. Enjoy it. I found this guy on slsk with ULTRA-RARE DARK ANGEL SHIT such as a 1983 demo, post-TDNH demo, and Pagan War Machine demos. :thumb: |

Ok. 1. Testament is better than Metallica and Megadeth (although not that good in itself) 2. Where the fuck is Exodus? 3. Asshat You're right about Anthrax on both counts though. HOLY FUCK! HOLY FUCK! HOLY FUCK! HOLY FUCK! HOLY FUCK! HOLY FUCK! HOLY FUCK! HOLY FUCK!
I knew Ventor provided some vocals on it but when I watched that DVD for the first time and saw him singing and playing I was blown away :thumb:
What Kreator songs does Ventor do vocals on? |
Can anyone match James Hetfield's (1980's) riffing?
Dave Mustaine ****s on it, along with many other rythym guitarists of the time. |
^^^
Agreed. Agent Steel are pretty good, and they are still around i think. |
So does anyone else here listen to the German band Rage??
|
NP: Sepultura - Escape to the Viod
|
^^
Most pointless most ever :p No i don't listen to Rage. |
It's called a bump in disguise :)
Don't know Rage either. You have us stumped - you get a trophy! |
What Kreator songs does Ventor do vocals on?
Riot of Violence only, I think, it even says in the Ptk booklet that he provides vocals but I didn't know what song until I saw them perform it live, it's really 50/50 between him and Mille on that song though. Yes I've heard of Rage, believe it or not they also have a small mention in the booklet accompanying PtK, I've heard that they're more speed metal than thrash though. NP: Sepultura - Septic Schizo |

Yeh they are more Speed Metal than Thrash, just thought I'd ask the question though. NP: Overkill - Long Time Dyin' |
I believe it - thanking every thrash band in existence ever in your liner notes is the thrash thing to do
NP: Vio-lence - Kill On Command
Sepultura were arguably the ones who did that most, I honestly gave up reading their mentions and thankyous etc. in the Arise booklet :p |
Yeh they are more Speed Metal than Thrash, just thought I'd ask the question though.
NP: Overkill - Long Time Dyin'
What or who do they sound like? I have been planning to sample some of their stuff for a while but I always forget :p NP: Metallica - No Remorse |
Dargon, Agent Steel own! Most of their stuff is top-notch speed metal.
As for whoever asked who can match Hetfield's 80's riffing, a two-year-old with the worst motor skills ever could riff better than him, because 3/4 of Metallica's riffs in the 80's were written by Dave Mustaine. Two riffs were also stolen from Exodus (Trapped Under Ice verse riff, Creeping Death chorus riff). Sure, they were Hammett's riffs to begin with, but those riffs were already layed to vinyl before they were used by Metallica. Metallica is to creativity, as sunlight is to nighttime. |

NP: Metallica - No Remorse
I couldn't give you a similar band to them. They're basically Speed/Power Metal, but they do have noticable Thrash influences. Give them a listen if you can, and see if you like them http://www.rage-on.de/media/mp3/down.mp3 |

WAIT not yet, I need to get Agent Steel and Rage first. |
