I think it was the ballet Petrushka.

Futuro 02-06-2007 10:14 PM

Yeah thats it.

poopoogaypoonn 02-06-2007 10:16 PM

yes is more along progressive rock for me, just cause Bill Bruford is an actual talented drummer

Maggot Dream 02-06-2007 10:18 PM

Yes is definitely prog, more in the pretentious vein than anything. Like Marillion, but with more talent.

Undisco Kidd 02-06-2007 10:23 PM

Hey guys.

I don't really care for Mike Portnoy that much.

Brokensticks 02-06-2007 10:24 PM

All about Peart. Well he doesn't have the most creative fills, but is a rock solid drummer and I just love his stuff.

Maggot Dream 02-06-2007 10:24 PM

I only really said that because I think of Yes as being in the same category as Marillion, who are definitely pretentious.

I don't really use it as a negative term, as I like alot of music many people (including myself) would consider pretentious. Like Dream Theater, although I've sorta gotten off them lately.

Me either.

Futuro 02-06-2007 10:26 PM

Most prog rock bands never progress. Like um wtf call yourselves stationary rock.

Me guesses next meshuggah album = Downtune one note riffs with no melody and screaming vocals.

WOW!

Brokensticks 02-06-2007 10:27 PM

Mike Portnoy never did much for me, but the song A Change Of Seasons is just great.

poopoogaypoonn 02-06-2007 10:31 PM

anyone listen to Tera Melos, their like hella just more simplified and melodic

Maggot Dream 02-06-2007 10:53 PM

This is probably a long shot, but does anyone have anything involving Shawn Lane?

Futuro 02-06-2007 10:57 PM
