Joe 12-19-2004 09:17 PM

has anyone bought any of the gold cds??? it's their old stuff and their like $60 a piece. are they really worth the $60?

1. The small solo at the beginning of "Jump In The Fire".

2. The ending part of the "Seek and Destroy" Solo. (First solo I ever learned.)

There are others too, just look at the tabs and see what you can do.

Edit: Actually, many of Kirk's solo's on Kill 'Em All are pretty easy as far as technicallity goes, they're just fast.

Metallica Rules 12-19-2004 09:41 PM

To be a true fan all you have to do is respect and them give your honest opinion about St.Anger. Indeed, it sucks but after much listening you would find the album average. That is because in your heart you are trying so hard to convince yourself that St.Anger is not a bad album, and Metallica doesn't suck. Instead take a look at first 5 to 6 albums. That is the true Metallica! 'coz by the end of the first ride of the albums, you would be addicted to it, and keep repeating it. I'm bashing Metallica only to give me honest opinion about how i feel, and Metallica had changed. But like i said i still RESPECT THEM. BECAUSE FADE TO BLACK IS THE BEST SONG EVER. FOLLOW BY ONE AND NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.

JACKROXYOU 12-19-2004 10:55 PM

This was the fourth time Dirty Window was played on this leg of the Madly In Anger With the World tour 2004.

This was the first time Die, Die My Darling was played on this leg of the Madly In Anger With the World tour 2004. Prior to that it has not been performed since May 2, 2004 in Madison, WI.

*This was the 12th time Metallica has performed in Houston, TX. The most recent show was on August 2, 2003 during the Summer Sanitarium tour.

metaldood 12-20-2004 10:16 AM

does anyone know some easier metallica solos to play? Ive played 4 years and am half decent, but still cannot manage such great solos as the one on master of puppets, however i can play the ones in orion. i have a show coming up soon....any suggestions on a couple to play that woulkdnt be too hard to pull off? thanks

Mister_Che 12-20-2004 10:27 AM

After 4 years, MOP's solo shouldn't be too hard for you. I learned it in 3 days and have only been playing for one year. Try the opening solo in Fade To Black, or the short solos in Sanitarium.

EDIT: Welcome to MX byt he way.

Mister_Che 12-20-2004 10:35 AM

About the stripper and the fight?

Didn't see the stripper.

Friend says we used to know the guy that got his a.ss kicked. Not sure though.

JACKROXYOU 12-20-2004 10:36 AM

o well it was hard to miss this chick the whole stadium was watchin

thats wat everyone was cheerin about during the intermission

metaldood 12-20-2004 10:46 AM

seriously? the mop solo sounds hard...it must be easier than it sounds? as for fade to black....im lookin for a thrashier song to do live...with a 'possible to play' solo.....doesnt have to be metallica.....know any pantera solos that are 'wingable' besides this love?

JACKROXYOU 12-20-2004 10:51 AM

it is easier than it sounds but its so rewarding to know

Mister_Che 12-20-2004 11:25 AM
it is easier than it sounds but its so rewarding to know
If you mean MOP, then yeah, it is easier than it sounds.

Someone was talking earlier about Bass solo's, i don't think Call of Ktulu was mentioned. That is one hard bass line to follow.

dude try 'cemetry gates' by pantera, the solo in that is awesome and with enough practise, can be pulled off.

Try the slow solo in puppets or the solo in sad but true. i learnt it the other day and it sounds awesome.

FFbassist26 12-20-2004 08:52 PM

on any instrument, what would you guys say is the hardest tallica song to learn and or play?

^Dream~Theater^ 12-20-2004 08:53 PM
on any instrument, what would you guys say is the hardest tallica song to learn and or play?
Disposeable Heroes or Dyers Eve for guitar

IheartSP 12-20-2004 08:57 PM
on any instrument, what would you guys say is the hardest tallica song to learn and or play?
i know nothing of drums, but id say fight fire with fire sounds really hard on drums, especially in the bridge

on guitar master of puppets is extremely tiring if you play it right, with all downpicking

leomondaine 12-20-2004 09:01 PM

Blackened Bass using Fingers :amaze:
i play guitar and i cant imagine doing half of the fast metallica stuff on bass with fingers. Rob is a god

JACKROXYOU 12-20-2004 09:43 PM

yea you have to be incredibly fast player to play some of that

guitar on the end of sanitarium, end of one, and disposable heroes

metallicamaniac16 12-20-2004 09:56 PM

rhythm guitar for Whiplash isnt that hard, but around the 2nd or 3rd verse, it gets pretty tiring if you're playin it fast enough
you cant you have to buy it from them

sorry, i dont know much about gettin these cds. how do i buy it from them if i dont want to get nailed for downloadin it off the internet?

\m/Pete\m/ 12-20-2004 10:02 PM

I'd have to say Blackened is one of the hardest Metallica songs to play. That last solo in it is awesome.

To Live Is To Die is no walk on the park either...maybe on the drums

MetallicAguy 12-20-2004 11:40 PM

i would have to say Dyers Eve is the hardest song to play to date.

RiceMonster 12-20-2004 11:43 PM

seek and destroy would be far easier than hit the lights. or you could try sanitarium.
