It's good that you are doing this, but pretty soon everyone will be doing personalised series threads, and we won't have anymore room to archive them. :)

They are quite informative, yes, but I'm not sure if any new series's will be included.
Well actually we could just make a seperate thread to archive everyone's series, and link that thread to the rules instead. I think it is a shame that so many great write ups will slip into oblivion.
Well, if you feel it canged into somethiing worthwhile then you'll have to wait for the person who closed it to answer.

However what?

I can tell you now that Stairway to heaven will win the best ballad.
Hendrix will win One Hit Wonder.
And No one will be able to agree on over rated or under rated albums.

Can i do a series of threads on rock/metal bands from latin america?
Of course. If you were worried about that thread I made, I am not trying to stop threads. I just got a bit pissy at my poached FAs. :)

Just go ahead. Make it detailed, focus on whatever you want. Just don't make a three page post on the band, that's kind of Med's Featured Artists territories. Sorry, I didn't realise I had this much clout. :-/

Yes, and Chris is using his ban-hammer as much as he did when he first started in here.

Illegal thread = threadstarter gets a free, three day vacation.

KBSD91 08-03-2005 11:46 PM

It seems mods are cracking down on newbs making illegal threads. I that pacificdrummer got banned for his Slipknot Thread, which was also his first post. Though this will probably discourage them from coming back. But I guess it's good to discourage people that don't take a few minutes to read the rules.

3074326 08-03-2005 11:54 PM

The place is a mess right now because it's so active and I think I'm the only person modding it. It also doesn't help that I'm a Guitar forum mod, as well as a super with some responsibility for the whole site.

It's time to be much more strict than I have been in the past. If I don't be this way, it'll escalate into an even larger mess.

And believe it or not, I do have a life outside the forums. I like to enjoy it. I posted it in another thread in another forum, but I was just at a movie with my girlfriend and found myself thinking about the R&M forum.. that's pathetic. That proves to me that things need to get done.

Med, I'm pushing for you in the Site forum. I need the help right now.

Either Maiden thread or Official Concert Review thread. Merging would probably be best bet.

3074326 08-04-2005 12:17 AM

Didn't ban him because I can see why he didn't put it in either thread..

Should we take this to the Site forum?

Uhh...no? Because this is solely a R&M issue?

Oh, I'm sorry I though the site forums covers all issues no matter how specific they are. So, the suggestion for a seperate series thread and better oranization goes here :)

Since R&M has this thread all of the stuff to do with the trunning of R&M can be dealt with here, because usually we only need the intervention of a mod. Only when an admin is needed, for example; getting Med modded, do you take it to site. Though if there aren't any mods on and there are a lot of problems it somties helps to make a post or two in there.

Posting it in Site forum wouldn't really do much, anyway.

Certainly not an Australian band link, the link in that post contains a pornographic image of an offensive quality.

Not in itself a bad thread, I just don't think you're going to get anything other than people naming bands in there with no real discussion.

This guy's just being a dick, he's basically a gimmick poster who just insults bands for no reason.
