http://www.myspace.com/dangerdoom

i'm pretty sure he's in gnarls barkley. He's done stuff with the gorillaz too if i'm not mistaken

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 12:32 AM

I almos built up a two octave vocal range...these excercises are paying off

Aerodyne 09-30-2006 12:38 AM

Mmm. . . Turkey burrito and microwave ramen. You can't say college students don't eat well.

FunkMetalBass 09-30-2006 12:38 AM
have you heard Saul Williams?
http://www.myspace.com/saulwilliams
hels my favorite rapper. he's lyrics rival most modern musicians.

also Immortal Technique. i don't have any good links to a good example of his stuff, but check him out. very smart stuff.
Saul is phenominal
Mind you, I've only listened to one song.

Is all of his stuff in the form of spoken-word poetry?

nah most of it has music to it. very unique music too. not just generic beats but usually very noisy, odd, and intense.

FunkMetalBass 09-30-2006 12:41 AM

Speaking of Spoken-Word, my English teacher lent me this VHS he has of some of Russell Simmons Def Poetry. It's Phenominal. I want to get the DVDs of all seasons.

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 12:41 AM

My god...

I forgot how unbelievably well Brian May and John Deacon played together

hmmm i think i feel like downloading some def poetry right now.

while on the subject of genres of music that most people hate but have amazing underground counterparts, how many of you guys like pop-punk?

a lesser known pop-punk band that you guys may not know about:
Latterman:
http://www.myspace.com/latterman
amazing, powerful, energetic, and they have a completely DIY ethic. seriously listen to them. and when you do, think of them as more of a totally DIY ethic underground, socially smart punk band rather than pop-punk just because the stigma of that genre label may harm what you guys think of them.

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 12:54 AM

Hell, Brian May is just a seriously kickass guitarist

Aerodyne 09-30-2006 12:58 AM

The fact that he and his father built his guitar by hand doesn't hurt matters either. Anybody have an interesting chord progression for me to steal?

sr800bkBassist 09-30-2006 12:59 AM

C G Am F lol get it? lol

Jody LeCompte 09-30-2006 01:00 AM

I wrote a song today. The verse is Em-A2-Am and then the chorus is F-Am-C-Em.

If you steal it, you owe me a dollar for every album sale.

sr800bkBassist 09-30-2006 02:14 AM
Did you say condom?
yeah. condoms are useful to put on before you get drunk. so that way later on in the night there won't be any bad mistakes :p.

I admit it, I lied.

Jimbobntnr 09-30-2006 02:32 AM

another musician, well, a keyboardist, complimented my playing tonight. That's two keyboard players in three weeks that have asked for my name and number - I think I have found my niche.

The Brad 09-30-2006 02:46 AM

Blue boxers with white diamonds and a black Exodus shirt, I slowly begin to lift my top and rub my rotund roll. "Oh, baby. Cum back to bed"

sr800bkBassist 09-30-2006 02:47 AM
Blue boxers with white diamonds and a black Exodus shirt, I slowly begin to lift my top and rub my rotund roll. "Oh, baby. Cum back to bed"
please describe exactly how rotund this roll is.

Jimbobntnr 09-30-2006 02:48 AM

and how it tastes.

The Brad 09-30-2006 02:48 AM

3rd trimester preggo.
Tastes like shea cocoa butter, to ease the pain of my stretch marks, and manfur.

sr800bkBassist 09-30-2006 02:50 AM

i just cut a slit across my nipple and gentley squeezed lemon juice over the wound.

the pain causes my face to cringe. i let out a moan. sweat begins to drip from my forehead as i sprinkle salt over the bloody slit.
