I just got the Catch 22 live DVD. It's awesome.

AIRIC 09-29-2005 07:59 PM

I've seen them live twice. Both times were relatively dissapointing.

J_McMeaty 09-29-2005 08:04 PM

When I saw them everyone but the tromboner had quite a bit of energy, he was just standing in place the whole time with his too cool for school shades.

It's annoying how the DVD is slightly different to the CD. It doesn't have the bit where the guy throws up and stuff.
whose better live...Catch 22 or Steetlight Manifesto?
Let's weight it out:

Catch 22: not good live

Streetlight: Amazing live.

AIRIC 09-30-2005 01:35 PM

Yeah, Catch 22 suck live.

Dude3 09-30-2005 02:56 PM

Well, Im leaving for Ska is Dead within minutes/hours. I can't wait! I'm really going for Streetlight Manifesto. I was lucky enough to get their only date on this tour, in St.Petersburg, Florida. From what I've heard, The Supervillians kick some major ass aswell. I've been meaning to check some more of The Toasters out, so this concert should get me connected.

I've been wondering(along with many other locals) whether The Toasters or Streetlight are headlining. I'm assuming Streetlight are, because its their only date on that tour, and the Ska is Dead website has them listed above the Toasters in many instances(like the posters and and band listings, etc..)

Buzzbomb 09-30-2005 05:26 PM

I know im off topic but is the Suicide Machines new album any good?

KingOfSka 09-30-2005 05:28 PM
I know im off topic but is the Suicide Machines new album any good?
Their older stuff is better.

Buzzbomb 09-30-2005 05:29 PM

I know, but is the new one any good? It seems more political then the rest.

KingOfSka 09-30-2005 05:48 PM

There's not as much Ska.

gastery6 09-30-2005 07:13 PM

It is more political, its still good though

Skidmark Steve 10-01-2005 08:49 AM

they've turned more hardcore over the years, i thought the new album was descent tho

POINTLESS5448 10-01-2005 11:23 AM

Yellin' In My Ear 10-01-2005 08:39 PM
im seeing streetlight tomorow!!!
I wish they would stop by Minneapolis or St. Paul, your pretty **** lucky.

phobiaholic 10-01-2005 10:17 PM

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw Streetlight today at 1 p.m. matinee show, $12. Kicked ***. They are amazing live.

Skidmark Steve 10-01-2005 10:24 PM

1 pm.........strangeness

Dude3 10-01-2005 10:27 PM

1pm is quite the strangeness. I got home from my show at 2:00am.

Here's my short review:

coasterphil@msn.com 10-03-2005 04:36 PM

When do you think Streetlight is going to take the stage if the doors open at 7? I'm trying to figure how late I'll be out tomorrow night seeing them in Atlanta.

AIRIC 10-03-2005 04:37 PM

They'll be headlining. Probably 1030.

lynch_me 10-03-2005 05:09 PM

So can I get opinions on catch 22 live? they're playing here on halloween, so I was planning on dropping by.

Jessizzle 10-03-2005 05:12 PM

Toronto date?

maco 10-03-2005 05:15 PM

My bass teacher pretty much just told me he thinks I'm nuts for wanting to play "Walking Away" XD

Mute Print 10-03-2005 05:17 PM

Catch 22 live is a really good time. I saw them about a month ago, and it was excellent. I'd definately recommend going to see them.

AIRIC 10-03-2005 05:18 PM

I would not. They were boring both times I saw them.

lynch_me 10-03-2005 05:55 PM
I would not. They were boring both times I saw them.
Well, do you know their music aside from their first one?

Let's Chop Cats! 10-03-2005 06:00 PM

They butcher their old songs. It's a travisty. Then they play new crap.

lynch_me 10-03-2005 06:00 PM
Toronto date?
I don't know but I do know this:

NEW - CATCH 22, The Flatliners, The Creepshow (feat Sean MacNabb), The Jolly Rogers
@ Underground -- 7:30PM -- LIC/AA :: Adv Tickets Available Soon

lynch_me 10-03-2005 06:01 PM

How do they butcher their old tunes?

DaveToopes 10-03-2005 06:01 PM
They butcher their old songs. It's a travisty. Then they play new crap.
Yeah the old stuff that they still play (read: butcher) is awful.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-03-2005 06:04 PM
How do they butcher their old tunes?
Vocal wise they can't sing. The guitarist added solos and stuff during their songs. Plus it doesn't sound anywhere nearly as good as on CD or seeing SLM.

lynch_me 10-03-2005 06:16 PM

Ok I trust your opinion, but I'll probably still go for the fun of it.

coasterphil@msn.com 10-03-2005 06:53 PM
They'll be headlining. Probably 1030.
****, I was hoping closer to 10.

Dude3 10-03-2005 07:12 PM

Yeah, my show was at 7:00. They got onstage around 11:00 for me.

coasterphil@msn.com 10-04-2005 05:39 AM

Well, they had all their stuff stolen, so my show got cancelled. You can read about it on their website, www.streetlightmanifesto.com

Drop The Baby 10-04-2005 05:42 AM

That's fu'cking terrible. $80,000 worth of gear, f'uck me!

Anyways, i'll see them at least once in england on their europe tour

Gnarmageddon 10-04-2005 05:56 AM

Jesus. Why would someone do that? *shakes fist*

Kif 10-04-2005 05:57 AM

Holy fuck! $80,000?! Man, I feel bad for them.

Drop The Baby 10-04-2005 06:00 AM

As a tribute i am watching my live streetlight videos and listening to them. They have lost a nice guitar and a very good bass mixed in with everything they lost

Kif 10-04-2005 06:02 AM

They have insurance I am sure, but still that sucks the big one.
