hello all! finally back! man i thoght this thread was done, sorry about that. ive also been very busy with football (american football to all you brit's out there). But its very good to be back, I CANT BELIEVE I MISSED ALL OF THOSE GOOD DOWNLOADS, i guess its my fault for bieng absent.

note- is it just me or is mike playing nowhere fast a lot too fast in the beginning of the song ( the one that skyler uploaded)
I like it better when he plays it at that pace.

Krash100 08-18-2005 09:02 PM

I like their more recent stuff. Everything from Make Yourself on was good, the rest just reminds of Korn and Limp Bizkit too much.....brings back bad memories of being 13.

Lunch 08-18-2005 09:15 PM

You guys do know that this is just the preliminary round, and it doesn't matter that much if they don't win their poll outright. They are certainly going onto the next round already (I believe the top 5 bands from each poll this round move on to Round 2).

You're kidding right?

enjoimx 08-19-2005 01:25 PM

 , dude incubus soond nothing like korn, or limp bizkit, are you retarded or somthing :amaze: ,

besides that stupid comment. you know the hidden track thing on SCIENCE, like seague 1 , or jose loves kate moss pt.1, well whatever its called in the very end you hear like a phone being picked up or whatever then it cuts out. i was wonderin if this is only cut out on the remastered version ( which is what i have). like if the track is longer and the phonecall or whatever is somthin thats only on the original? know what i mean

Duckhysteria 08-19-2005 01:28 PM

yea, they sure dont sound like the bands mentioned above

Lunch 08-19-2005 01:30 PM

Not usually, but Redefine actually sounds a bit like Limp Bizkit. Much better, but still.
Well they did play on Family Values back in the day..
I forgot that all of the bands that tour together sound exactly the same.

Lunch 08-19-2005 01:37 PM

The poster said it "reminds him of" not that it "sounds exactly the same".

incubliss 08-19-2005 01:37 PM

i'm going to see them in 8 days at Reading fest, thinking of bringing my camera along. it's a good camera and really good quality, so i'd get some good pictures.

i just don't want to break it.

Tails 08-19-2005 01:38 PM
I forgot that all of the bands that tour together sound exactly the same.
I forget sometimes too, but hey we all make mistakes. ;)
The poster said it "reminds him of" not that it "sounds exactly the same".
I'm saying that just because they toured together doesn't mean they sound alike, it was a hyperbole.

enjoimx 08-19-2005 02:30 PM

ol breakin out the big words here boys? tails that avatar chick is AMAZING!! holy crap. but yeah incubus did sound heavy back in the day but not that heavy. i guess they were heavy enought to get on the family values.

They often joke about being nervous in front of fans of heavier music.

Idiot Martyr 08-19-2005 10:27 PM

Iff I had a dime for every time someone asked if that were me, I'd have about 30 cents or so.

Lunch 08-19-2005 10:27 PM

You probably should've asked for a million bucks everytime someone asked if it were you.

Idiot Martyr 08-19-2005 10:29 PM
You probably should've asked for a million bucks everytime someone asked if it were you.
Instead of these fucking dimes? I'd be filthy rich.

Lunch 08-19-2005 10:31 PM

Yea, that was the point.

yeah id have to admit that was a good one. so heres a topic, i mean looking at brandons lyrics, its incredible how much they make sense. i mean compared to almost everything out there. the ryhming, the ideals and whatnot, they are actually extremely creative and well crafted if you really think about it. and like mike, stellar and pardon me sound like nothing ive ever heard, what do you guys think fuels these guys?

Brandon's lyrics are definetely well-crafted pieces of art in my opinion, but pretty much every aspect of their music is at least a little unique. I mean Make Yourself may not be the most original album in the world but S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and A Crow Left of the Murder definetely hold their own.

Sleeper 08-21-2005 09:46 PM

I like Brandon's lyric writing on Morning View. Echo has some great lyrics, so does Just A Phase.

Sticky-Fingers Mahoney 08-21-2005 10:49 PM

i'm a fan of the lyrics on fungus and enjoy. i think they are crazy original.

They were probably heavily influenced if you know what I mean.

My Favorite Album ever, the lyrics on all the songs really seem to punch my button. Anyways can anyone recommend me the bands they think are closest to Incubus? They dont have to have the funk roots etc, just Incubus are so hard to classify I sometimes wonder if there are any bands out there that can have the same effect on me that Incubus do.

Sleeper 08-22-2005 03:36 PM

I think Mr. Bungle is suposed to sound like them, I've never heard there music though.

BassCozzy 08-26-2005 03:28 AM

All the songs for science kickass.
I prefered Dirk but Benny is probaly a better muscian.
Incubus have kinda lost the sound what made them so popular but their new stuff isnt all that bad.

What was that band that Benny was in?wasnt a rap group or something?

The Flabbit Rides High 08-26-2005 05:23 AM

I would like to see them do a kind of revival sound of SCIENCE. With the sounds and people the have now.

Comaan, SCIENCE was legendary!
