Dr. Jake Destructo 06-11-2005 07:01 PM

Hows that funny?

Kickflip_Burrito 06-11-2005 07:12 PM

I thought there was a specific thread for people wanting to do covers with other users?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-11-2005 07:20 PM

That thread is just for giving Metal Head the lineups, songs, etc..

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-11-2005 08:49 PM

I was on azlyrics.com and they had lyrics for original lyrics for Testify and People Of The Sun. Does anybody have those songs?????????

The reason I was laughing is because funner isn't a word, it's 'more fun'. ;)

Static 06-11-2005 09:36 PM

argh, bombtrack is wicked annoying on drums. the hi-hat part is all dynamic-y and weird.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-11-2005 09:48 PM

Ok. KitN it is.

:D*

i like metal- Sometimes it sort of sucks to be wrong :p

Hedgedive 06-11-2005 11:44 PM

I'd have to say my favorite album is Evil Empire (we are still discussing album preferences right?), followed closely by self-titled.

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-12-2005 09:04 AM

Hey don't blame me, teachers and my dad always told me there was no such word as 'funner'. Wow, I'm gonna start using that word a lot more often, it looks funner than other words.

lucas12345 06-12-2005 09:37 AM

I like battle of la the best. there are some kick *** songs on that album that they sadly dont play on the radio.

Janitor 06-12-2005 09:49 AM

If you just keep the hi-hats slightly open it sounds passable.

Lateralias 06-12-2005 04:45 PM

You guys think Brad Wilk is an underrated drummer? I think he's had his good moments..

Kickflip_Burrito 06-12-2005 04:57 PM

Battle of Los Angeles is my favourite RATM album, then Self-titled then Evil Empire then Renegades.

I didn't enjoy Renegades.

Darkness 06-12-2005 05:18 PM
You guys think Brad Wilk is an underrated drummer? I think he's had his good moments..
Brad Wilks best performance to date is on the new Audioslave album. We see a lot more fills and stuff like Man or Animal has some great snare work.

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-12-2005 06:06 PM

I think its good that a lot of their songs aren't played on the radio.

Duncster 06-13-2005 11:47 AM

I went to record BoP but I didn't. I realized I wasn't sure about a few things.
1) are we using flat tuning like the actual song is in? Probably an obvious question but I just wanted to make sure.
2) Do you want me to make up a new solo or just play it the same way Tim does?
3) Since Demon didn't use a metronome the drums speed up and slow down a bit and the guitar breaks are a bit to long. I was wondering if you wanted me to make a bassline to the song and have Demon play to that since the poor guy doesn't have a metronome to play to.

I'm also gonna record a rough version of Vietnow for Demon to follow!

I can understand why you didn't like Renegades, it was definetly RATM's weakest effort. BoLA seemed kind of weak in some parts of the album (Born As Ghosts, New Millenium Homes) whereas the self titled and Evil Empire never lose their power.

...at least that is how I see it.

lunch998 06-13-2005 03:38 PM

I really like New Millenium Homes actually.

I agree, and nice pic

Static 06-13-2005 04:38 PM

BOLA>RATM>EE>Renegades

Darkness 06-13-2005 04:39 PM

Yeah, I ment to ask. Can I change the solo from Bulls? Like just the rhythm?

Static 06-13-2005 04:44 PM

Yeah, that'd be better so it will be more of your own work rather than an exact replica.

Thor 06-13-2005 07:37 PM

Thanks, I pity the fool who doesn't like my avatar. :thumb:

How's the cover coming, guys?
Yeah, that'd be better so it will be more of your own work rather than an exact replica.
Alright, good. I also ment to ask if we were playing Eb but that got answered...

Should we even bother going to Eb? then I have to undo my locking nut and stuff...

But I could I guess.

Thor 06-14-2005 01:27 PM

Play the song like they play live and play in standard tuning. It sounds cooler that way.

Bass_ment 06-14-2005 05:27 PM

Ok I think this thread needs a little more of a kickstart again so I'm gonna see if I can do it.
Now everyone knows Killing in the Name, Guerilla Radio, Sleep Now in the Fire, but what do you believe to be some of Rage's most underrated songs? and why do you believe them to be underrated?

For me it would be:
Ashes in the Fall - The lyrics are amazing, the structure is very different from many of their songs, and Zack's whispers at the end are pretty eerie.

Darkness - most people haven't heard this one but its got a cool jazz pre-verse, spoken word elements, and an awesome melodic solo. Powerful song.

No Shelter - This was an Australia only bonus track for BOLA, got an awesome groove and some very cool lyrics.

Without a Face - Though its pretty run of the mill Rage material I really think it stands out on EE. Gotta love the live version too.

Please post your favourite underrated Rage songs

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-14-2005 05:29 PM

Definatly Roll Right. Another would be Year Of Tha Boomerang.

I LOVE EE.

Darkness 06-14-2005 05:40 PM

Almost all rage songs are underrated, sept for a lot of BOLA which had some really crappy songs if you ask me.

6stringslinger 06-14-2005 05:40 PM

I am sure this question has been asked probably 100X but what is Zack doing now? Was he supposed to come out with an album? Has he become a hermit or what?I heard a song called "We want it all" was that a new band or what??I think he also had a website...

Darkness 06-14-2005 05:40 PM

Browse the thread please.

Darkness 06-14-2005 05:49 PM

Don't foget about "March Of Death"...

Thor 06-14-2005 07:23 PM
Almost all rage songs are underrated, sept for a lot of BOLA which had some really crappy songs if you ask me.
Agreed. Born as Ghosts and New Millenium Homes are just plain boring if you ask me. They seem like filler tracks.

lunch998 06-14-2005 07:24 PM

New Millenium Homes - Underated because I don't think anyone likes it but me.
Township Rebellion, Fistfull of Steel, Revolver, Voice of the Voiceless, and a few others.

Static 06-14-2005 07:27 PM

Snakecharmer-Great snare work and often overlooked being between BoP and Down Rodeo

lunch998 06-14-2005 07:28 PM
Snakecharmer-Great snare work and often overlooked being between BoP and Down Rodeo
That track sort of annoys me until the ending, which is great.

Snakecharmer is an excellent song, but I'm still convinced that Wind Below is the greatest. If you can convince me otherwise, I will be very impressed.

Static 06-14-2005 07:29 PM

Hmm, i always liked the entire song, its probably my favorite off of Evil Empire

Thor 06-14-2005 07:30 PM

Evil Empire seems to always be the most talked about album by RATM on the forums.

Static 06-14-2005 07:36 PM

....and yet its my 3rd favorite. I always liked BOLA the most. I cant find a weak song on it, even Born as Ghosts has some nice parts in it.

Darkness 06-14-2005 07:41 PM

Wind Below is amazing... The solo, the riffs, the slow part the solo leads into then the explosive outro are incredible.
