oh... your one of them...

Firecracker 03-15-2004 03:14 PM

i heard cradle of filth's cover to "fear of the dark" the other day.
hell of a good.
Nice one Frail

Does the cover art on Maiden albums affect the way you listen to them?

Like, for me, BNW is very sort of powerful, crisp and cold, but DOD is more mysterious, bringing out the celtic acoustic bits.

Anyone else find this sort of thing?
Actually yes i do. Piece of Mind always seemed kind of dark to me and the cover did too. Powerslave has a brighter cover and the songs just a like that in a way... kinda hard to explain, but I know what you mean.
oh... your one of them...
even the music from the Blayze era wasnt up to Maiden standards. Give or take a handful of tracks from both albums. "man on the edge" is identical to The Number of The Beast, and blood on the worlds hands falls appart after Steve's bass intro. I couldnt have given those albums a more positive attempt the many times ive listened to them. Their voice was gone when Bruce left, and the band did as best they could but it just isnt what id call worthy Maiden material. i know to many people who aggree with me to say otherwise.

dazed and confused444 03-16-2004 12:50 PM

does anyone here prefer 'iron maiden' and 'killers' to their other albums.....'iron maiden' is by far my fav maiden album...and i think number of the beast has good songs...but its a tad bit overrated....not as good as everyone says it is...

HondoII 03-16-2004 03:04 PM

nope...I prefer Iron Maiden over Killers but NoTB is my favorite album.

FrailandBedazzled1979 03-16-2004 03:05 PM

i too prefer Iron Maiden over killers. "sanctuary" "remember tomorrow" "transylvania" "iron maiden" those 4 alone make is one of their best.

SystMSe7en 03-16-2004 03:14 PM

Iron Maiden kicks all total asshole ninogs

TheUnforgiven 03-16-2004 05:39 PM

Speaking of covers, what's your guys' favorite Maiden album cover?

I'd say either SIT or Live After Death.

HondoII 03-16-2004 05:41 PM

LAD..the booklet is awesome.

YDload 03-16-2004 06:26 PM

I enjoy the NOTB album cover because it implies that Eddie is more powerful than Satan. That makes him almost Jesus!

live after death probley, but from studio albums id go with....Killers, its just strait to the point. Eddie with a hammer and slain foe grabbing onto his shirt, very good.

Blaze rules, X factor is one of my favourite albums and his solo stuff kicks ***.

VXI kind of sucks tho, and agreed on virus

FrailandBedazzled1979 03-17-2004 01:19 PM

I do like The X Factor much more than Virtual XI. Ive heard his stuff with Wolfsbane but never from his Blayze band...hes a good singer, just i dont think he fit well enought with Maiden.

HondoII 03-17-2004 01:32 PM

Deadsy 03-22-2004 03:16 PM

FrailandBedazzled1979 03-22-2004 06:02 PM

i herad rumors that Dianno and Blayze are supposed to team up for a tour? but im skeptical to see if that happens.

PS: i should say that some guy in all leather at a Judas Priest tribute show told me this, so i sktechy about what his soucres are...anyone else heard of it?

ashman 03-23-2004 02:01 PM

I haven't heard anything like that, but it would be interesting to see Blayze and Dianno touring together.

Maybe that guy might know somebody who knows somebody (u get the picture) that is a roadie or something. 'cos guys in leather usually know something

Reach Out - helluva good. Too bad "H" cant sing like that anymore...

Thunder Fingers 03-26-2004 01:46 PM

Reach Out Or Doctor Doctor! they are awsome! :D

FrailandBedazzled1979 03-26-2004 01:47 PM

EASILY i will pick "Burning Ambition", what great guitar work!!!

ashman 03-26-2004 03:14 PM

Reach out is pretty good, why cant he sing like that nemore.
I think the sheriff of huddersfield and black bart blues are funny.
I love the little bass intro to blood on the worlds hands.

ashman 03-31-2004 07:35 AM
