Same here. I love that double bass.
I love double bass. I've been trying to practice it on my drums for a while, but I can't get the hang of it.

Captain Jack Sparrow 04-23-2005 06:44 PM

Double bass is hard stuff. I can still only use my pedal in short bursts.

Understanding In a Crash 04-23-2005 06:45 PM

My ankles are usually sore so it's so hard to double bass :upset:

Gnarmageddon 04-23-2005 06:52 PM

Sometimes I can do it really good, like doing straight 16th/8th/triplets, and sometimes I suck. It must depend on the weather.

cbmartinez 04-23-2005 06:54 PM

Just had two slices of buffalo chicken pizza, that was so good.

^^Siiiiiiick double bass.

That first song on there is a cover, isn't it? It sounds really familiar.

Edit: Whoa, you're right. That double bass is sick.

I'd say my favorite double bass part is either in '94 Hours' by As I Lay Dying, or 'One Life to Live' by Haste the Day.

Understanding In a Crash 04-23-2005 06:58 PM

Chatliff Choir is good stuff for a small price.

cbmartinez 04-23-2005 06:59 PM

Hahaha, it's a cover of a Depeche Mode song, hence the [Depeche Mode]. Listen to "A Threnody For Modern Romance" for some awesome double bass.

Gnarmageddon 04-23-2005 07:00 PM

Oh, whoops. I thought it was like one of those parts of titles in parentheses. Ha.

Understanding In a Crash 04-23-2005 07:02 PM

* dies * :upset:

I worked 8 hours today :upset:

Gnarmageddon 04-23-2005 07:05 PM

Where do you work?

cbmartinez 04-23-2005 07:08 PM

NP: "Jet Black New Year"

Gnarmageddon 04-23-2005 07:09 PM

Good song.

I'm going to admit it. I love black metal.

A movie theater. I jacked a box of Milk Dud's for myself on the way out :smash:

I was forced too buy 2 mainstream CD's and I went with Smile Empty Soul and QOTSA - Lullaby's to Paralyze.

I'm pretty impressed at both.

cbmartinez 04-23-2005 07:16 PM

I do it for the drugs!

NP: "If You're Smoking In Here, You Better Be On Fire"

Captain Jack Sparrow 04-23-2005 07:17 PM

I just joined the Democratic Socialists of America. It only cost $20 for a year long membership, so it's a great deal.

Understanding In a Crash 04-23-2005 07:17 PM

I know that shit is so corny... I remember on the radio that had to bleep it out so it would just say

I DO IT FOR THE _____

For awhile I actually thought of all the things it could of been..

Gnarmageddon 04-23-2005 07:18 PM

I always thought he said hugs.

Why not admit it, it's awesome, what bands do you like?

Understanding In a Crash 04-23-2005 07:23 PM

I find it ironic on the CD that the 3 singles that they released are in the order from oldest to most recent 1, 2, and 3. Usually you would think the rest of the songs by the end of the CD blow but it's pretty fluent throughout.

Understanding In a Crash 04-23-2005 07:24 PM

I never understood how some CD's got parental advisory stickers and some do not. There are some metalcore/hardcore bands that I listen to that kind of use the word fungle alot is it because the people "up in censor heaven" can't listen to things that hurt there virgin ears without cursing.

I've downloaded a lot of Children of Bodom and Cradle of Filth. Anything else you'd recommend?

It depends a lot on how popular the band is.

Hahaha, yes...learning proper genres. CoB is good but CoF is awful imo. CoB is Power Metal with harsh vocals. CoF is something else but not Black Metal. For Black Metal I'd recommend old Dimmu Borgir or Emperor for starters. If you liked CoB look into Kalmah and Norther though.

cbmartinez 04-23-2005 07:38 PM

Yeah, Throwdown curses ridiculously too much and they don't have anything on there. Parental Advisory used to piss me off when my parents wouldn't let me buy PA CDs. I had to get my friend to buy me Steal This Album! and System Of A Down.

Gnarmageddon 04-23-2005 07:39 PM

Ok, cool. Thanks.

As soon as I listen to some of these, I'm gonna go play KOTOR.

Edit: I've heard 'Puritania' by Dimmu Borgir, and it's amazing. I just remembered that.

The only reason I didn't buy SOAD's s/t was because it had a parental advisory. My mom would never let me get it.

She still won't let me buy M rated games, and I'm almost 16.

cbmartinez 04-23-2005 07:45 PM

I remember meeting my friend in that alley and him passing the CDs into my coat. I was always on the edge after that.

Gnarmageddon 04-23-2005 07:55 PM

Wow, I love Kalmah. Thanks, zep.
