hey, you're not cory! 08-02-2005 11:03 PM

I'll see if I can talk my dad into letting me go to both though.

Kif 08-03-2005 04:04 AM

There are still rumours that Blood Brothers are breaking up, so I'd take that opportunity and see 2 amazing bands of great musical talent.

Well, for me I'd probably go to BB/Coheed, seeing as I've seen UnderOATH, and Thrice are on Warped, and I've yet to see BB or Coheed.

In today's Kerrang, Claudio gives a little explaination about all the new songs. I'll type it up in a minute

Kif 08-03-2005 07:59 AM

Claudio's guide to the new album

WARNING: If you don't want the record a litte ruined, I suggest you don't read on. A lot of it is about the song's sounds and a little bit of the story!

Keeping The Blade: "This is the intro, an orchestrated piece. It's written by Joshua Eppard, the drummer, and myself, and it's actually the intros to (previous albums) 'In Keeping Secrets...' and 'Second Stage Turbine Blade' with an arrangement in the middle to bring them all together. It's very beautiful."

Always And Never: "This is an acoustic piece. Just myself, and actually my niece Janirez screaming in the background, hollering on her own. She's three years old."

Welcome Home: "This is really the opening track of the record, and it's very aggressive. Very reminiscent of Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir", som e people say."

Ten Speed (Of God's Blood & Burial): "This one focuses in on a character of the story, his name is Ten Speed. He's actually a 10-speed bicycle, created by the subconscious of the writer as guidance to destroy the record, helping the writer to figure out a way to end the whole story."

Crossing The Frame: This one talks about the characters from previous records: Newo Ikkin, and her role, and I don't want to get into that now. It's basically a straightforward rock song, very much in the vein of Thin Lizzy."

Good Apollo I: The Writing Writer: "That's a pretty elaborate song. That's where we start getting into the elaborate side of Coheed And Cambria, with more musicians, and several guest musicians playing on it. It's where we get a little chaotic."

Once Upon Your Dead Body: "This is like The Beach Boys, very sing-songy. You'll definately hear that band here. I've spent a lot of time listening to the new Brian Wilson album 'Smile'. That band is pretty amazing."

Wake Up: "This is the record's ballad. You can call it that if you like. There's a lot of significance to me and my relationships or whatever you want to call them."

The Suffering: "This is a straightforward, single-sounding song. It's a combinations of a lot of the Coheed And Cambria-esque straightforward rock song: the "A Favor House Atlantic"'s, "Three Evil"'s and "Blood Red Summer"'s."

The Lying Lies And Dirty Secrets Of Miss Erica Court: "It's very laid-back, not as in-your-face as some of the other ones. We're played it live and kids have been calling it "Tell All Your Friends", cause there's a line in it which says "Sell all your friends"."

Mother May I: "This reminds me of The Police. It's one of my mother's favourites. It's very subdued in the verses, and opens up quite a bit in the chorus."

The Willing Well I, II, III & IV: "This is a four-part thing, wqhere we get into the progressive side of Coheed And Cambria. This section is about 34 minutes long. Each song varies between about seven and eight minutes. It's pretty much the climax of the record, the real puzzle."

I am excited. I was thinking that Dear Apollo was going to be filled with music in the vein of Blood Red Summer, etc. but it doesnt look like its going to be that way. yay. Thanks for the article.
Where did you pre-order?
I put a link up in the news thread. It's a pretty good deal. :thumb:

DJ Ducksauce 08-05-2005 04:39 PM

Cool. I'll check it out.

DJ Ducksauce 08-05-2005 04:43 PM

Wasn't "Welcome Home" a free download anyways a few weeks ago?

Mute Print 08-05-2005 04:44 PM

Yeah, I think it was. I'm not sure why that is part of the package.

DJ Ducksauce 08-05-2005 04:49 PM

I guess they wanted people to pay something instead of getting it for free.

CombatWombat3 08-05-2005 09:28 PM

The new album seems really intersting. Why do you think they are doing two song that have parts taken frm old songs? That seems a bit odd.

DJ Ducksauce 08-05-2005 09:49 PM

I know about the intro having old parts of other songs, what is the other song?

The Crowing 08-05-2005 10:04 PM

The intro is merging the two other intros from the other albums, and adding its own little twist. Thats it. No other song.
Yeah cob, where the f*ck have you been?
My computer broke. I just made a goodbye thread on it, nucca.

TMA 08-06-2005 07:34 PM

So, what are people's thoughts on the bands that are touring with Co&Ca this Fall? I know who they all are, but I've never really HEARD them.

cobert 08-06-2005 08:12 PM

I think MeWithoutYou are pretty annoying.

Dredg, i hear, sound like tool. Not my cup of tea.

The blood brothers are allright, ill listen to them.
