I sew mine myself. I haven't washed the sweatshirt yet though, so I'm not sure how much they'll fray.
Why didn't you just fold the sides down?

That's what I do now. I give the patch to my mum, she sews the sides down on her machine, then I hand sew them on the jacket myself.

pikeled onion 01-16-2005 06:17 PM

i dont really have the freying edges problem, mainly because i never sow patches on things that get washed. my bag and my jackets are the only thing i really sow on
Depends on the sewing machine.

Can someone give me a FAQ of all the questins asked in this?
All you have to do is un-sew the seam of the sleeve, sew the patches on, then sew th sleeve backtogether. Un-sewing's the toughest part coz sewing it back together you can just turn it inside out and use your machine.

Sounds much easier just to do it by hand.

Duct tape a broom stick that something that stands alone, like a Christmas tree stand. Then duct tape the mic to the top of the broom stick.

OiItsFatmatt 01-17-2005 01:41 PM
No, If your sewing machine has an arm on it you can slip it in that and then sew. As I said it depends on the machine.
and im sure that if you machine has that you wouldnt be asking :thumb:

I use a tripod for a camera. I'm sure if you want one no matter what it looks like, you can find several things around your house to use for one.

Platinum_twf 01-19-2005 04:16 PM

how do I sew cloth patches on so they stop fraying? I have to hand sew it, I don't have a sewing machine...

Brain Toad 01-19-2005 04:17 PM
how do I sew cloth patches on so they stop fraying?
You can spray the edges with anti-fraying spray
You can fold the edges over to the back, and sew them on that way.
You can trim the edges (this only prevents it temporarily)

OiItsFatmatt 01-19-2005 04:17 PM

either glue them on, then sew them (the glue bonds the edges)

or turn the edges underneath before you sew them on
