It was.

On S/T and Iowa, you have the epitome of Ross Robinson's sound.

On MFKR, I think they self-produced it, so there you go.

On Volume 3, Rick Rubin, IMO, worked magic and we got something great...

Maybe you think they are tools for listening to their producer, but in a way, I think it helped them grow. They knew they could do better than S/T and Iowa, so they got rid of Robinson, and let their real talent show...

If anything Vol.3 was alot less Nu Metal than their older stuff.They were just unlucky enough to blow up when the "nu metal craze" was hitting its peak.Nu Metal is not a genre, its a marketing lable."Nu Metal" was the hot thing at on point so the industry started slapping it on any new band in order to make money.How else would Slipknot and Linkin Park be put in the same genre?It doesnt matter anyway."Nu metal" will be a forgotten term in 10 years.Slipknot will likely still be remembered.....as a metal band(which is fitting).As a matter of fact, the same magazines calling them "nu metal" 3 years ago now lable them as a metal band.

I am a slipknot fan, idiot. How many more times do I have to say it? Just because I don't post the same drivel as everybody else like "WHUTS UR FAVRTITE SONG?????" doesn't mean I'm not a fan of the band.

By the way, just so you know, Corey was added as a SECOND vocalist, and it was Anders who quit. Nobody in the band knew Anders was going to quit, he surprised them at a show. Corey was singing in that crappy Stone Sour band that Slipknot BEAT at the battle of the bands.

Why do most people find the new album (subliminal verses) crap? I reckon it's their best album, they have strong songs like Sic and Liberate, then they have Circles and Vermin Pt2 (2 acustic songs) They are the greatest Slipknot songs ever, Iowa was **** as, Self Titled is great, full of angry, strong music and Subliminal Verses is like Self Titled but with some nice, slower songs. Anyone disagree?

^ i think Iowa had more angry and heavier songs than s/t. almost every1 of them was.

i dont think they've moved on to a differant style of music with vol. 3 like some people think. i think thier just displaying what they can do. they obviously still play thier old music in concerts and such.

What has anyone thought about the tab?

I Love Vol.3, It's one of the album i like every song on, besides Beyond The Valley Of the Muderdolls

uhh.....excuse me but who the hell are you to make the decision on why i like SlipKnot?! i loved SlipKnot before The Heretic Anthem was even released. although i do love their anthems(Surfacing, People=****, The Heretic Anthem). but i love SlipKnot for many other reasons to.

I totally agree, Vol 3 shows people a different side to the band, they dont just scream and shout while flailing their instruments. They are all VERY talented musicians, no matter what people say.
