Anthony, I agree entirely. Hetfield is, for my money, one of the finest rhythm players around. Especially being self taught (he originally played drums, and has no formal guitar training) and singing at the same time.

but Mustaine is just as good at rhythm imo

I normally put personality aside when talking about musicians, but I must say, when the two are considered equal, that comes in, and Dave seems an absolute arsebandit. So James wins... :lol:

but theyre equally good guitarists
although i consider dave to be the better singer

I don't get on with Slipknot, but I agree that Joey is a good drummer (though sloppy sometimes, and he *is* overrated ;)), and Corey has a quite pleasing scream, and pseudo rap voice, and the axework doesn't seem too bad. Just in the context of the entire band, and the music they make, I don't enjoy it.

When people cite Surfacing to be an amazing song, for example, it makes me cringe.

a good drummer definately, but there are many much better than him, and really i think my drummer could come up with such lines
he is definately overrated
my faveourite slipknot song is vermilion
and they have like how many people in the band?
no wonder they have to play every fest going just to afford food each

i'm not a big fan of the 'knot but i did quite like their last album, whatever its called

I'm not bashing on Nu-Metal though. I like System (though they are a little lumped in with Nu-Metal), as well as Korn, and Limp Bizkit to an extent (their more rocky stuff... I don't like Durst. Without Durst, they would be an amazing band).

Yay, So Fat bandit, what stuff can you play on bass?

Uhm, I guess the most 'impressive' thing I can play is Anesthesia up until the drums. I never learnt the rest. I can play a lot of stuff, fairly fast with 3 fingers, but I'm nowhere near up to Teen Town or anything. I can't slap in the slightest, and my tapping is quite bad. I'm about even ability with pick and fingers, but better slightly with fingers.

I really don't rate myself.

No, but I don't think slapping is the be all and end all of bass. Geddy Lee can't slap, but I don't hear many criticise him. I just have to get to his level of playing first...
