My only qualm, obviously, is the references to crappy indie music. Some is alright, but most is crap. And he doesn't like the VU :(
One comic he talked about Pavement, Dinosaur, and Sonic Youth which was cool. Other then that yea, most bands that he name drops are lame.

The guy who writes it lives in Rockville or something. That's like 15 minutes away from me.

Anxious 01-31-2006 09:15 PM

How did you like the Commercial Album, Nick?
How did you like the Commercial Album, Nick?
As long as I let it run as background music, it was fine. But once I started paying attention to it, I hated it.

Anarcho Poser 01-31-2006 09:22 PM

I don't like SARC any more than I like NN2S. I mean, it's pretty much the same comic -- same humor, different characters.

On the subject of webcomics, I recommend Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.

and a personal favorite of mine, http://www.smbc-comics.com/index.php?db=comics&id=100#comic

Sam 01-31-2006 09:23 PM

I like Cat and Girl.

Brain Toad 01-31-2006 09:25 PM

I recommend all the comics I read

The Residents, Commercial Album.

Brain Toad 01-31-2006 09:53 PM

I think I'm turning into you Dom.

First I go and start listening to Minutemen and downloading all their albums and EPs. Then I move onto fIREHOSE and Mike Watt. Then it's on to Black Flag. Now I'm listening to Meat Puppets II

Brain Toad 01-31-2006 09:57 PM

Aurora Borealis sounds like a familler song. Was it used for something?

Anxious 01-31-2006 10:01 PM

I'm not sure. Its a great song. I used like four Meat Puppets songs in my movie though.

AndreTheHyena 01-31-2006 10:05 PM
QC and Beaver and Steve are easily my favorite webcomics.
Alien Loves Predator rules. NN2S is too whiney and obnoxious.

Anxious 01-31-2006 10:13 PM

I was reading this one webcomic about toothpaste.

AndreTheHyena 01-31-2006 10:14 PM

Go make a stupid bulletin about it, stupid.

Anxious 01-31-2006 10:17 PM

That makes me sad andre, sad and dissapointed.

AndreTheHyena 01-31-2006 10:22 PM

Yeah. Check out Grails. The Burden of Hope is a good rec by them and they cover it.

Anyway, the point was, if you like the Res and can dig the disjointed songs, check out anything by SCG.

obese_breasts 01-31-2006 11:01 PM

Ah how I love Jeph Jacques and his comical references to greek gods.

I remember everything! I remember everything little thing, as if it happened yesterday. I was barely seventeen, and I once killed a boy with a fender guitar. I don’t remember if it was a telecaster or a stratocaster, but I do remember that it had a heart of chrome, and a voice like a horny angel. I don’t remember if it was a telecaster or a stratocaster, but I do remember that it wasn’t at all easy. It required the perfect combination of the right power chords and the percise angle from which to strike! The guitar bled for about a week afterwards, and the blood was zoot, dark and rich, like wild berries. The blood of the guitar was Chuck Berry red. The guitar bled for about a week afterwords, but it rung out beautifully, and I was able to play notes that I had never even heard before. So I took my guitar and I smashed it against the wall! I smashed it against the floor! I smashed it against the body of a Varsity cheerleader! I Smashed it against the hood of a car! I Smasned it against a 1981 Harley-Davidson! The Harley howled in pain! The guitar howled in heat! And I ran up the stairs to my parents bedroom. Mommy and daddy were sleeping in the moonlight. Slowly I opened the door, creeping in the shadows right up to the foot of their bed. I raised the guitar high above my head, and just as I was about to bring the guitar crashing down upon the center of the bed, my father woke up, screaming "STOP! Wait a minute. Stop it boy! What do you think you're doing? That’s no way to treat an expensive musical instrument!" And I said, "GOD DAMNIT DADDY! YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU, BUT YOU'VE GOT A HELL OF A LOT TO LEARN ABOUT ROCK! AND! ROLL!"

Meatloaf is the rockinest fat guy ever.
