Joe 12-18-2004 07:35 PM

so who went to the MIAWTW tour??? what'd you all think?

metal_milita 12-18-2004 10:56 PM

can someone follow up on the pear story??

and about that "noob" mx-poster who was saying that metallica fans should like st.anger, he wasn't too off base you know, all of you guys over-reacted IMO (opinion, notice opinion dammit). We shouldn't be forced to like it, but you have to respect the music man, it IS pretty good. If any other band came out with an album like that whos name wasn't metallica, it would be pretty good. Don't hold such high expectations of metallica, its not their duty to fullfil it so that our hopes aren't crushed. they're just there to play the music they love. Despite the 90% of people who absolutley hate St.Anger, notice how metallica still regards it as their best album they've ever created and the album that had the excited the most. Metallica puts a lot of emotion into their music, and now that they are old, wiser, and sadly, sober, that emotion which used to be raw poison fueled-anger and thrill has been replaced by something more to the effect of being at peace. James just finished rehabilitation, think about it guys. Their music is NOT based on and does NOT sell on their solo's and speed if you've ever noticed. It's sold IMO on the emotion they put into their songs. Take most peoples favorite songs
fade to black
Sanitarium
To live is to die
Call of Ktulu
Ride the lightning
MOP
etc.
They all have one main similarity.

For big Metallica fans it is fine. But for those who like Metallica, but not a lot, it is terrible. I'm personally sick of all the St. Anger bitching. I don't like the album, but come on people, get over it.

solidsnake3725 12-19-2004 12:39 AM

Personally i think St, Anger sucked. And do u wanna know why. Listen to evey one of the songs on that album. NOT ONE KIRK SOLO!!! what the heck is wrong with this!? Metallica is a great band don't get me wrong. Its just that St. Anger sucked!!!

i didnt know how to quote the message ^^

i agree man... i personally didnt love it either but i mean they were amazing back in the day and so many people dont realize that they might have not wanted to play thrashy anymore...i mean c'mon we cant live in the past... things have changed but unfortunately not for the better. but i do hear that their new album is supposed to be a bit thrashier... so thats good news
so lets look foward to the future :chug:

Huber 12-19-2004 02:31 AM

Yeah, everyone makes mistakes. I like St. Anger, but even if you see it as bad, it's just one of many. Stop crying about it.

scrowler 12-19-2004 02:45 AM

Heavy0metal0freak 12-19-2004 12:35 PM

I like st. anger its not that good but it's better than the radio music

hellraiser123 12-19-2004 12:41 PM

St Anger, pretty good album, although im disappointed that it doesnt have any solos in it, its still a **** heavy album...the film 'some kind of monster' looks like a good followup. has anyone seen it? whats it like?

RiceMonster 12-19-2004 01:11 PM

It wouldn't have been any better if Kirk had done any solos in my opinion.

JACKROXYOU 12-19-2004 01:56 PM

holy **** guys stop talkin about st anger

st anger = 40-50 pages of this thread at least

Joe 12-19-2004 02:14 PM

AGREED!!!!! talk about tours, old cd's music, but just SHUT UP WITH ST ANGER. we all know it is the worst metallica cd because there are no solos and the songs are too long.

sooooo about that recent tour...or about master of puppets or rtl....something else besides st anger

Joe 12-19-2004 02:15 PM

someone above posted about the movie

has anyone seen it???

JACKROXYOU 12-19-2004 02:41 PM

no i missed the movie was it good?

i did see the miawtw tour when it was houston, and bought the concert

every band should sell thier concerts

AngusYoung413 12-19-2004 07:01 PM

KillemAllforOne83 12-19-2004 07:29 PM

The Four Horseman
does any one know any good/great bass partsd besides pulling teeth, my friend of misery, and for whom the bell tolls??
I don't know the name of it, or if you named it. But there's an incredible bass solo somewhere on Kill Em' All

Freezing Moon 12-19-2004 08:44 PM

It's called "Anesthesia - Pulling Teeth".

JACKROXYOU 12-19-2004 08:47 PM

just order the houston concert and go to rob's intermission solo

it owns all

metallicamaniac16 12-19-2004 08:52 PM

I know of almost all of Metallica's cds, including Kill em all, RTL, MOP, AJFA, Black Album, Live Sh*t, Load, Reload, S&M, Garage Inc., and St. Anger, but I'm sure I'm missing one (or more). Can anyone help me? Also, does anyone know if Load and Garage Inc. are any good?

I'm a guitarist, so I may be wrong about bass, but Orion, from Master of Puppets, has a pretty good bass part to it.

JACKROXYOU 12-19-2004 08:55 PM

loads ok

garage inc is 22.99 for a cover album

Freezing Moon 12-19-2004 08:59 PM

I like the part with the guitars doing slow bends over the bass riff. It isn't that hard of a riff but it fits really well.

The Frayed Ends of Sanity has a bass build up similar to Four Horsemen's right before the guitar solo.

KJSchultz 12-19-2004 09:10 PM

maybe i didn't llook close enough...but i didn't see anyone mention the awesomeness of the song AIN'T MY BITCH off of Load

Joe 12-19-2004 09:14 PM

i like both load and garage inc.

metallicamaniac16 12-19-2004 09:14 PM

Does anyone know of any thrashy guitar solos that are pretty easy? I'm a guitarist, but I'm not that good. I'm workin on Motorbreath right now, but its takin some time.
