Nothing much, just finished at Church. Gonna play some Minecraft in a bit, and we need to go get Sheldon some food. Currently watching Saturday Morning Kitchen.

Fuck yeah just back from Duxford airshow yesterday, Battle of Britain memorial thing, 70 years and all that. 16 Spitfires in one formation, hasn't been a formation of them that big since, well, the 60th anniversary, where there was 21, which I was also at.

Blue_Moon 09-07-2010 01:44 PM

Back from my electric picnice, friggin amazing festival with all sorts of events and music going on all jsut off a giant campsite and forest... theres even some stages and events in forests, its almost like a cool fairy tale looking event!

Blue_Moon 09-07-2010 11:15 PM

twas beautiful, i felt rather normaly dressed for it, till i found a charity shop, got some sweet clothes for under a tenner!

also i made a video today of a... lady... gaga song... no vocals and done a bit more rough n ready... seems to be ok compared to some other attempts i seen at it and theres no vocals or the actual song under it

I like the nuclear hippie age. I went to a rainbow gathering this summer, it pretty well blew my mind. I'm moving to the west coast now where there's more of that kind of festy hippie gathering stuff, and also a lot more cabaret circusy stuff. . .

I'm getting into dance and performance. More specifically, fire dance and poi, or to be exactly specific, fire cutlasses. I've built myself a pair of fire swords and have been meeting the fire scene out here in NYC, but honestly there's a lot more of that on the other side of the country.

I'm sure there was a ton of that kind of shit at electric picnic, ya? I see pictures and videos on facebook and know of some troupes who've performed at it, seems like a blast

Blue_Moon 09-08-2010 12:17 AM

yeah performers of all sorts there, its a quirky but really sureal kinda festive spirit goin on, hard to explain but its just rocks

i love all that kinda stuff too, was in venice beach 2 years ago seen kinda stuff like that

its based in a really cool area beside a forest but has stuff within the forest too, which they set up unbelievably, its such a great event the way its worked... as i was walking into the venue through the pathways in the forest area there was a turned over old ship with bands performing on/in it, was cool.. wish i had more pics, could of had some cool ones, i was not under the best state to operate a camera at some points

friends have some much better pics, but these are just my rather random ones

I would have fecking loved to have seen that.

AG 09-08-2010 11:34 AM

I have fire-poi'd before, it's awesome fun.

GorgeousGabe 09-08-2010 11:38 AM

Yeh, it's not bad. Swinging fire around your head on the ends of chains can be pretty exhilarating. Fire makes just about anything better... especially JOSH

This was my face after I read that email

Sup.

Blue_Moon 09-08-2010 07:26 PM

mike portnoy left DT

i dont really mind tbh i was never a big fan, just fyi

The_Mop 09-08-2010 07:40 PM

Doesn't surprise me massively to be honest, I was saying a few months ago that I wouldn't be surprised if the whole band just broke up soon after their last two albums, which were sub-standard at best. They seem to have gone off the boil somewhat.

Aes820 09-08-2010 07:56 PM

Yer some bands should just release their 'best of' and call it a day. Ima looking at you Metallica.

It's not out of Portnoy's character tbh. Not that I know him personally like.
Their last album was terrible in every way.

AG 09-09-2010 08:29 AM

Just got a job.

Was out of work for 5 weeks, applied for it yesterday, had an interview today, was offered the job at the end of the interview.

I rock.

The_Mop 09-09-2010 10:25 AM

Well tbh, Portnoy technically has left the band before, but for a very short period of time whilst on the Falling into Infinity Tour (another shite album)...

I'm getting a bit annoyed with most forms of entertainment at the moment - there are so many bands and comedians and others that I used to hold in really high regard that have either turned terrible or I just don't care about anymore... DT (last two albums were terrible), Meshuggah (have cheapened themselves through sheer repetition), Satch, Bill Baily (that orchestra thing was far from funny, if anything it just shows the complete inability of classicaly trained musicians to play the bee gees)... the list goes on. Is the whole media world just sucking really badly at the moment or am I just becoming really boring?

Left Face Down 09-09-2010 10:49 AM

It is my firm belief that the world is just sucking really badly.

P.S. - Every time I see the name "Portnoy" I think of the movie Tropic Thunder due to Jack Black's character having the same last name.

AG 09-09-2010 11:39 AM

Sup guys, what's the best free database software? As in, I want Excel but a free version, and I don't wanna have to dl all of OpenOffice just to use Base.

Papa Shank 09-09-2010 11:47 AM

Hello 'lod

Left Face Down 09-09-2010 12:20 PM

'sup Paul?

Papa Shank 09-09-2010 12:22 PM

I am fine, in a non-fine but partially-hopeful way. Can you believe that a university let me in to study? Crazy, I know.

'sup your fine-self Paul?

The_Mop 09-09-2010 12:23 PM

Excel = Spreadsheet software

Access = Database software

Admittedly the only alternative I know is openoffice...
