for real, and their live show isnt as impressive as everyone made it out to seem
they were just mediocre, just like their music

adb 10-28-2008 02:09 AM
for real, and their live show isnt as impressive as everyone made it out to seem

ill never understand it.

best deathcore/ish bands, live anyhow, that ive seen (in order):
through the eyes of the dead
knights of the abyss
graves of valor
veil of maya
job for a cowboy

most boring imo:
impending doom
arsonists get all the girls
sea of treachery
abigail williams
emmure most disappointing live show ever

like i enjoy a couple emmure songs every now and then and they sound like theyd be great live, and everybody says theyre SOOOO good live, but... they stayed on stage at a venue where its becoming expected for the bands to play on the floor in front of the stage (except the drummer), so like... kids tried pile ons to do gang vocals and tuffguys got pissed off when girls jumped on their backs and wanted to fight them... on top of that, they played 2 of the good songs and then all bad songs. and their vocalists voice was so blown.

but their guitarist bummed me a marlboro .27 100 and they were nice dudes

Pebster49 10-28-2008 03:26 AM

impending doom, LOL, I would only think they would be boring live, since their cd puts me to sleep

hismajestythepope 10-28-2008 03:30 AM

its awesome that aphotic discord (local band) was by far the best band at that show (impending doom, sea of treachery, atag, paraphilia)

adb 10-28-2008 03:37 AM

Impending is great live, maybe it's because they're from the area so they have a lot of fans and put on good shows here idk. All I know is Brooke has the most brutul inhales evar

adb 10-28-2008 03:39 AM

also, Winds of Plague has more talent than KOTA js

hismajestythepope 10-28-2008 03:40 AM

okay? kota actually sounds good.

also, really really good inhale vocalist:

the local deathcore scene here is so good tbh

adb 10-28-2008 03:42 AM

shades only (sometimes) sounds good cause of the vocals, the instrumentation is painfully mediocre. WoP has a good sound but they're too focused on being brutul

hismajestythepope 10-28-2008 03:44 AM

the instrumentation is simple because theyre not trying to be an impressive sounding deathcore band anymore, theyve said it in interviews, theyre going for a more classic melodic death metal sound because thats what theyve been into for the longest time. i respect that and they pull it off well.

also, when you said the drumming on shades is bad that one time, i laughed out loud, listen to the foot patterns.

ive come to the conclusion that you think showing off makes for good music.

adb 10-28-2008 03:45 AM

they've tried to be mediocre all this time? What a goal. They go from playing incredibly generic deathcore to incredibly generic melo death

:clamp:

hismajestythepope 10-28-2008 03:46 AM

they went from putting out the best deathcore album in the past 3 years to putting out a solid mdm album.

regardless, i like a good band, you defend bad bands.

lets talk about ALAT instead:

adb 10-28-2008 03:48 AM

arguing opinions is fun

hismajestythepope 10-28-2008 03:49 AM

seriously, listen to trav's vocals and how good they are in that song

How do you keep epically failing so well, it's just staggering

HighandDriving 10-28-2008 08:32 AM

Hey at least it's epic.

And KOTA did not release the best deathcore album in the past 3 years, hands down.

I just found that funny, I guess you agree they did as well, lol.

2muchket! 10-28-2008 08:37 AM

Don't care for KOTA's older releases actually. Just replying to something with that immature response was well erm, faaaaaaaaillllllll.

HighandDriving 10-28-2008 08:47 AM

*epic fail, please.

the one time i saw them they did a damn good job tbh, all the vids on youtube and whatnot of the band i wasnt impressed with their live show and i only went to support a band playing right before them. But they actualy did good and played a lot of their good songs

botb 10-28-2008 01:24 PM

emmure has good songs? =P

beans 10-28-2008 01:25 PM

a few yeah, i dont mind a few of their songs in moderation

HighandDriving 10-28-2008 01:36 PM

Not really.

Dimmu Burger 10-28-2008 02:18 PM

I left before Emmure went on at the show I went to. I missed Suicide Silence, but it was my wife's birthday party that night, so ah well. Architects and Beneath The Massacre were awesome.

adb 10-29-2008 02:50 AM
