I disappear is one of Metallicas best for sure. And Escape is ****in awsome
Well i don't think it's their best song...but it is wicked
and Escape is Sooooo underrated. It gets next to NO credit and it's actually really good :thumb:

Hate to ruin all of your days but um, Metallica sucks and doesn't deserve their own thread. Hell they don't deserve to be able to play guitar anymore. I've been listening to Metallica since 1986 and they have produced nothing but crap since 96. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I remember Ride the Lightning and being blown away by it as well as Master of Puppets. I was able to tolerate the black album as well but they lost their nuts after Justice was released.

But hey, it's only my opinion and the negativity is geared toward newer metallica. Just disappointed that people think they need their own thread when there's nothing to say.

jsguitar1 08-26-2004 07:38 PM

Other then they are overpaid. :)

NoLeafClover54 08-26-2004 07:44 PM

i dissapear is ofcourse an amazing song, i was just kinda pissed when they lost the mtv video award to limp bizket

I DISSAPEAR> THAN ANY LIMP BIZKET SONG

jsguitar1 08-26-2004 07:47 PM

I agree Limp is very untalented and a waste of ear drum use.

But it's just my opinion.

They got their own thread because there were way too many metallica threads, maybe you would know that if you read the first post.

Black - Reload IMO was them changing their direction with their music, if I recall a few of them did some serious music theory studying between the Black album and the Loads, maybe they felt that they wanted to try something different.

Now St. Anger, well of course it has been said 1000 times, WTF?

Just a cop out my friend. I have been a musician for a long time and I will tell you it was a lie to sell more CD's and to justify their sudden change (uh um selling out). This is the same old **** that new fans and the old fans that still wanted to be fans would say time and time again. They studied music and they wanted a change. Bull****! They changed to match the crap that was getting shoved down our throats on all the radio stations and MTV in hopes that they would win the hearts of the new kiddie and that hopefully most of the old fans would forgive them. They did it for cash and it was a business move. The good music went out the window and anyone that knows the whole story knows that.

Wow you bitch alot dont you. Thing is, you dont know they did it for the money, they could have done it because they wanted to! You cant say they did it for the money because you arent them, nor can I, it is all speculation.

Im not fan of their new stuff either, it would be great to have Pre-Black album Metallica back, but like i said in the other thread, whining about how current rock sucks isnt going to change anything.

Dude it's time to sleep. I was backing down 5 year old babies on the other thread that were insulting older rock and bragging about newer rock that's all.

I'm voicing my opinion toward others that oppose it not toward people like you who reply with useless information and complain that I'm saying something. You don't need to reply to everything unless you have concrete evidence and have a reason to talk or argue. Stop defending Metallica man, it isn't worth it. They did it for cash and you don't have to be James Hetfield to know that. To be honest it was good for them because now they make more money than ever, there music just sucks like the rest of todays garbage at the expense.

Screw man.

Concrete evidence? I said it is all speculation, so of course there isnt any concrete evidence. You dont have any evidence either. At least I stated it as speculation, im not saying im right and your wrong, im saying try to see it from a different perspective.

Have you seen their live show recently? They play mostly pre black album songs. The show I went to, they only played 1 St. Anger song, 1 Load song, a few Black album songs, and the rest pre-black album. It shows that they still have their fans in mind.

But of course, im wrong and your right because you know everything

NoLeafClover54 08-26-2004 09:22 PM

look jsguitar1 you just dont come into a metallica thread and flame the band were talking about, it not cool. And im not gonna deny your music history and what not, but most of us dont like st.anger (personally i like everyhting form kill'em all to garage days inc) so your entitled to your oppinon, i just dont agree with your oppinions so be quiet and leave the thread unless you have metallica information or 'positive inromation' to say so leave

Five Magics 08-26-2004 09:26 PM

Heres my take on the Load albums. Load was good but different, Reload was bad however. But I really think had they condensed the albums to just one album and selected the best songs for it, it would have turned out much better for them. Heres what I think the track listing should have been for the loads in this order:

1. Fuel
2. The Outlaw Torn
3. 2X4
4. The Unforgiven II
5. King Nothing
6. Prince Charming
7. Bleeding Me
8. Until It Sleeps
9. The Memory Remains
10. Hero of the Day
11. Ain't My Bitch
12. Thorn Within
13. Wasting My Hate
14. Fixxxer

Also, I think the album should have been titled differently, such as "The Outlaw Torn" or something like that, to keep consistent with the many albums they have that have the title track in the number 2 position. Anyways, I think they would have done much better with this but it is no where near as good as any of there previous albums.

NoLeafClover54 08-26-2004 09:30 PM

i like ur track lisitng Five Magics it brings all the different moods from both albums :chug: and it would have been cool to have some really fast songs instead of the kinda bleak ones form load i would just add

hero of the day
devils dance
bleeding me

PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 08-26-2004 10:20 PM

I Love Metallica. I'm so proud to say I have all there albums and I love all of them. Even St. Anger.

I'd have to disagree with you, I think ReLoad was the better of the albums.

hey that's cool, its what you think, but i think condensing the albums into one would have been best

guitarfrog 08-27-2004 01:36 PM

load and reaload are the same, but there were too many songs on load so they put the rest on reload

i thnk they considered doing a double-disc album thingy, but i dunno why they didnt do it

The only exception might have been, like previously mentioned, Sum 41. I was surprised to see the indian dude shred the **** outta MOP
Well their main influences are Iron Maiden, Judas preist, etc. Dave(indian guy) was in an Iron Maiden cover band and if I'm not mestaken, a Metallica cover band as well.

StSandman08 08-27-2004 07:08 PM

I love everything Metallica has written from the first note of Hit The Lights to the last note of All Within My Hands (espiaclly the kill part at the end of the song :)) I will never understand how people can say metallica sold out after the released St.Anger. That is the most mainstream unfreindly album out there and Metallica new it too. I like it all too.

NoLeafClover54 08-27-2004 09:12 PM

im so glad to hear someone actually say they enjoyed st.anger! YAY!!!!! I do like all within my hands, unnamed feeling, and basically all the songs i know i said i only liked everyhting form kill'em all to garage days inc, but i actually took the time to lisitn to everytrack throughly. and they do rock!

Bulldogabel 08-27-2004 10:58 PM

the only thing that pisses me off about st. anger, is that they left out the solos.
