Got Coma of Souls
And **** You today. I just realized Kreator is my favorite thrash band.
Fuck You is such a cool song.

SLATANIC-666 02-22-2005 05:35 PM
I used to think that too... until I heard The Years of Decay.

Get it man. It rips and rages all the way through, easily some of the most pissed-off thrash ever, and Skullcrusher is a very dark song. :thumb:
I took a while for Years of Decay to grow on me, but now I can't go a week without listening to it, it's a nice change from mostly listening to extreme thrash IMO.

NP: Kreator - Riot of Violence \m/

ForiegnPenguin 02-22-2005 05:53 PM

Its seems I must buy YOD next.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-22-2005 09:17 PM

The Years of Decays is a pretty **** good album, but i still prefer many onther bands to Overkill.

NP: Tired And Red - Sodom

Agent Orange + Persecution Mania = Win

MAthiAS 02-23-2005 12:46 AM

How would you guys rate Coma of Souls with Kreator's other stuff?

And I picked up Darkness Descends today, so I'll get to hear the full album and all its thrashy goodness.

I personally prefer Pleasure to Kill and Extreme Aggression to Coma of Souls, but it's still an awesome album, People of the Lie and Terrorzone are probably my favourite tracks from there. In any case, if you don't have it, you should get it, you won't be dissapointed, I promise ;)

EDIT: Enjoy Darkness Descends, that album just has so much energy, it's unrelenting :thumb:

RCA 02-23-2005 07:05 AM

Guess what I got yesterday?

ULYSSES SIREN BOOTLEG! All 7 of their released songs too.

LordDargon 02-23-2005 07:13 AM

What about In The Sign of Evil + Obsessed by Cruelty
How would you guys rate Coma of Souls with Kreator's other stuff?
More technical, less fierce and brutal. Enjoy DD.
EDIT: Oh, ratings, ehm... CoS = 8/10, PtK = 666/10 :)

RCA: OMGOMGOMGOGMOGMGO LET ME GET MY WANK POT
Anyone listen to Slaughter Lord?
Slaughter Lord are pretty good.

The Sodom you need first is Persecution Mania, as it's the best thing ever made ever.

 Dargon

NP: Anthrax - Indians

Actually, I saw the tracks wrong. They play 6 of their songs, and then there's a cover of Exodus' "And Then There Were None". Still VERY kick ass.

NP: Sabbat - Hosanna In Excelsis

I had another massive battle with Eleventeen, it's classic. Check the last 2 pages of the Korn thread and the last like 3 pages of hte community thread.
Crap, you is teh offline. :upset:

NP: Xentrix - Balance of Power

SLATANIC-666 02-23-2005 05:59 PM

Have you been fighting again Dargon? :p

I managed to get Doomsday for the Deceiver - F&J and Leave Scars - Dark Angel off ebay for reasonbly cheap, I can't wait 'til they arrive. I also plan to get the Exodus albums, Pleasures of the Flesh and Fabulous Disaster off there for also quite cheap. Are these albums worth getting?

NP: Testament - The New Order

EDIT: I just read some of that closed Korn thread Dargon, very funny stuff man, roflmao :thumb:

whatduffhuck7 02-23-2005 06:38 PM

i have a question. this may be a stupid one but im jsut getin into thrash (except slayer,l been a slayer fan for awhile)
bands like anthrax, testament are like sing, not as hard core as bands like slayer, strapping young lad. is there like sub genre's or is strapping young lad not thrash. idk?

1. Make your post readable. Many users on this forum will flame you to hell for having bad typing and grammar skills

2. Strapping Young Lad isn't thrash. Not even close.

3. No subgenres to thrash, unless you count death/thrash.

ForiegnPenguin 02-23-2005 07:50 PM

Np:Testament-Burnt Offerings

Isn't melodic thrash a subgenre, or did I just make that up?

Nightrider32X 02-23-2005 07:55 PM

My two favorite thrash albums are Slayer- Reign in Blood (freakin classic) and of course Motorhead- Ace of Spades. Anybody else big on Motorhead?

Thrash can be melodic, but there is no defined subgenre named melodic thrash. Your head was in the right place though, so don't feel stupid.

Hell yes! I love Motorhead.

ForiegnPenguin 02-23-2005 08:07 PM

Motorhead is great. I have Inferno,Bastards and Overkill. Actually seeing them soon too.

Oh yeah Inferno is a great album! I love how it's all based on the principles of the blues scales, too! I have Orgasmatron (my favorite song), Inferno, Ace of Spades, and I had Hammered and Encore Collection, but they were stolen. :upset:

ForiegnPenguin 02-23-2005 08:31 PM

That sucks. I like the songs Red Raw, Brave New World off Hammered.

Well there's different types of thrash that can depend on the location/region of the band (but not always) ala Bay Area thrash, German thrash, etc.

If you count death/thrash as a subgenre, then you might as well count power/thrash, speed/thrash, black/thrash, and progressive-thrash as subgenres.

Check out Heathen and Ulysses Siren, you might like them.

Thanks for the rep.
Have you guys seen the Ulysses Siren video on their website? The drummer looks like he's fifty, one of the guitarist (or bassist) looks like a ghetto thug, and there's like no one there watching. Good stuff.

 thats pretty funny
