Sunshine 02-04-2007 11:29 PM

Aww, bears lost huh.

And all week I had a few friends walkin' around proclaimin' DA BEARS [you gotta hear it in real life].

How disappointed they must be.

Maggot Dream 02-04-2007 11:30 PM

Good for Indy.

Chippy569 02-04-2007 11:41 PM
i went and saw pan's labyrinth

it was pretty good
i heard it was interesting. *waits for DVD*

Brokensticks 02-04-2007 11:46 PM

Superbowl lacked a lot of emotion and suspense. O well, still not bad football.

The Ska Man 02-04-2007 11:58 PM

It was in florida. everything here sucks.

I didn't watch it, though. I dislike american football to a large extent.

Brokensticks 02-05-2007 12:08 AM

Yes, I especially despise the over-time rules. Canadian football over-time rules are great, very fair.

But i'm off to bed everyone, have a good one!

Jeff 02-05-2007 01:41 AM
Sup d00ds and dudettes...heres one of the grooves i play for my band...it's a bit sloppy at the beginning and i screw up at the end and give up but whatever.

It's in 17/8...hats compliment the bass accents, bass and snare compliment the guitar accents.

Wow i'm an idiot.
http://media.putfile.com/178-Groove-20
ya cool groove but that snare sound is horrible.

CasB 02-05-2007 02:00 AM

Man I feel like shit. I really couldn't fall asleep, so I spent the whole night in bed, not sleeping :(

Corkofski 02-05-2007 03:22 AM

sup gice

finally downloaded some enter shikari. the drummers snare sounds horrible. apart from that, its ok music

Jezen 02-05-2007 05:13 AM

I get the impression that Enter Shikari is just more "scene" music.

Corkofski 02-05-2007 05:35 AM

so did i

but its actually ok

what next? will i start wearing skinnys?

Jezen 02-05-2007 05:37 AM

Corkofski 02-05-2007 05:39 AM

Jezen 02-05-2007 05:52 AM

Yeah once I had to go into TopMan to buy a suit for Char's 18th. One emo lookin guy advised me to buy some black drainpipes with white flat shoes because it's really cool. I told him to fuck off.

Sunshine 02-05-2007 07:08 AM

I hate skinny jeans =/

But my boyfriend wears girlpants.

He's like. Everything I've ever made fun of.

But I dun't care what he looks like ^-^

But ya.

Wow.

I don't want to go to school at all.

Jezen 02-05-2007 08:51 AM

^^^
Hypocrisy?

Berk 02-05-2007 11:53 AM

Lol, Enter Shikari's squeals blow.

Josiah 02-05-2007 12:05 PM

Hmmm must just be demographics. Don't see many kids here wearing tight clothes.

It's fairly warm though year round, tight clothes + heat = boo. Most people just wear jeans or shorts and t-shirts. It's what the T-shirt says that counts.....

*looks down*

mine says...

"metsys eht wercs"

DrumIntoTheNight 02-05-2007 12:18 PM

Haha, sweet T-shirt.

I've decided on learning The Sound Of Muzak. Props to the guy who tabbed it a while ago.

This could be challenging...

Seafroggys 02-05-2007 12:20 PM

people wore tight *** clothes in high school, hardly see it around here at the college. I'm so glad I graduated.

Josiah 02-05-2007 12:24 PM

Haha ya exactly. College is like... "You are in a scene? WHAHAHHAHHAHA"

Cool Avatar DrumIntoTheNight, one of my favorite albums.

Talos 02-05-2007 12:31 PM

Sucks man, I twisted my ankle in rugby today and I have a gig tomorrow. You reckon I could still play double bass? Its my left foot so I could play single easily im just wondering if it will have recovered by tomorrow...

Josiah 02-05-2007 12:36 PM

I'd say if you wanna be a player (like bigger time), you'll have to move somewhere. Nashville, LA, Miami, NYC, etc so deffinetly not a waste of time, depends slightly on your taste. Nashville is mostly country/christian music and some pop. Miami has a huge metal scene, NYC has a ton of jazz clubs, LA is more the rock/heavy rock/pop scene, etc

There's plenty of work, especcially in LA proper or Nashville just from the record companies and sheer number of venues alone.

You should be able to build enough connections where you are that a move to a major music city shouldn't be too much of an issue if you are dedicated and work for it.

Cost of living though is just a bitch and a half. 'Futuro' is/was planning on going to MI he looked a lot into apt's and such in the Hollywood area prob has a good heads up on that stuff.
Ask him about returning the rental car only hours after getting it... haha driving here is not for the faint of heart.

Josiah 02-05-2007 12:45 PM

Well haha ya 4 years is not only very expensive.. it's a long time.

I think you'll find after about 6 months, it suddenly dawns on you that now you know how, and can, teach yourself pretty much everything you need. The outside input, while helpful, suddenly becomes more for accountability then education.

Not uncommon at all to do that (esspeccially for there!). The nice thing about schools like that is the mad practice times. I do miss beind able to just shed hard for 6 hours starting at 10pm

the_pure_drummer 02-05-2007 12:46 PM

Bonjour!

Josiah 02-05-2007 12:47 PM

I'd be interested (as I'm sure some others would) of your impressions of the school and such thus far.

There was another user here.. hmm I forget his name, he attend one of those berklee summer camps, it was done here in CA. 6 weeks or 8 weeks, he was very dissapointed for the cost:information ratio if I recall right. was maybe 2 years ago, I think it was when Rod was still heading up the drum dept.

Josiah 02-05-2007 01:04 PM

Either way though, it's still a absurd learning expereince, deffinetly strive to get as much out and if that means a few smiles and showin up on class 5 mins early to ask how your teachers day went... then do it. It's the lil things that will help the big things.
