Thunder Fingers 05-06-2005 10:09 AM

i have played for 2 1/2 year, the only thing im happy with is two of my fingers on my right hand :p

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 10:10 AM

Only thing I'm happy with is a few of my melodies, which are now sounding bland to me... Sad.

I badly want to transcribe music now. If I can't make up good music, I will atleast have an awesome ear :p.

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 10:12 AM

sod it! i've decided that i'm just going to write/play generic metal rubbish and pollute the world with my Kreator/Death/Megadeth rip offs (minus the solos)

PaulSimonon 05-06-2005 10:12 AM

I'm just bad at every aspect of playing.

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 10:14 AM

PaulSimonon 05-06-2005 10:15 AM

PaulSimonon 05-06-2005 10:17 AM

(And noone believe Jorge, he's an awesome player. He's got the craziest knack for melody.)

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 10:17 AM

i've had some Rich Tea biscuits and a pcket of Love Hearts all day!
i'm Hank!

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 10:19 AM
(And noone believe Jorge, he's an awesome player. He's got the craziest knack for melody.)
Radiobass81 05-06-2005 10:19 AM
(And noone believe Jorge, he's an awesome player. He's got the craziest knack for melody.)
Wow, thanks man, that means a lot to me.

:)

PaulSimonon 05-06-2005 10:20 AM

I'm not being modest. Jorge and Rollo are.

Rollo47 05-06-2005 10:20 AM

No, I'm not dude.

PaulSimonon 05-06-2005 10:21 AM
Wow, thanks man, that means a lot to me.

No problem man, it's true.

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 10:22 AM

so, anyone checked out my comp entry to see how bad i am?

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 10:22 AM
I'm not being modest. Jorge and Rollo are.
Nah, I really am terribly upset with the way I play...

PaulSimonon 05-06-2005 10:23 AM

Go to Rollo's soundclick, and listen to some of his songs. Especially the ones he entered for the slap comps.

PaulSimonon 05-06-2005 10:25 AM
Nah, I really am terribly upset with the way I play...
Why? You've got great speed, and you're on time.

I've got *decent* speed, but I can't keep rythm without a drummer or metronome, and I can't phrase like you. And I'm too inconsistent.

Rollo47 05-06-2005 10:25 AM

My slap comp ones are awful. I never made it past the first round.

PaulSimonon 05-06-2005 10:29 AM

Meh. I think I have the one you used in the first slap comp on my WMP, it's fantastic.

DavetheGrumpy 05-06-2005 10:30 AM

Stop being miserable, the lot of you!
You self-pity wallowers, you.

DavetheGrumpy 05-06-2005 10:31 AM

Oh, hey mx (how rude of me)...

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 10:32 AM

Lol, there's a whole world of difference between being grumpy and being miserable. Trust me, I'm grumpy... :thumb:

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 10:35 AM

Paul: When I play fast, I am terribly sloppy (didn't you my mockery (sp?) of Teen Town today :(), and I ussualy play a bit to fast...

Rollo: Your solo over Love Thing is amazing. I always loved your slower pieces...

ah well
did my best
and some girl in my class left for new zealand permanently today, but shes not very nice to anyone or hot, so im not really that bothered

jaco jr 05-06-2005 10:45 AM

just out of curiosity, i can read sheet music, but it takes me forever, i think im best off transcribing to tab form to play somnething if its complex, is it worth forcing myself to read the music on powertabs say to improve my speed at this
would you say its important?

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 10:45 AM

anyway, i'm off, i gotta cook Fajitas :D

might be back later, might not, not that u care
CHECK OUT MY DIRE LEAGUE ENTRY
if i come back i wanna see some flaming responses to it ok?!

I'm doing Philosophy & Ethics, Biology, Economics & Business and Computing (strange combination, I know). I live near Middlesbrough. If you don't know where that is, you probably don't want to.

Cheers jaco jr. :thumb:

jaco jr 05-06-2005 11:06 AM

ive just figured that the song i was trying to add bass to wasnt one of my bands songs, it was a children of bodom song

Don't know, I can't read standard notation anymore, either (could when I played clarinet, stopped playing clarinet, forgot, feel stupid :upset: )
But yeah, it's far better to read standard notation than tab, really.

Rollo47 05-06-2005 11:11 AM

Yeah, force yourself to learn standard notation, you'll regret it if you don't, I think.

jaco jr 05-06-2005 11:20 AM

argh
my powertab has decided not to play anything in the bass score
quite a bugger when your trying to write a bassline for your band's new song
