Rollo47 05-06-2005 09:29 AM

I'm back again.

How are we all?

Andrew Womble 05-06-2005 09:29 AM

this is verging on wack....

someone make an interesting thread...

Rollo47 05-06-2005 09:30 AM

Interesting threads don't exist, my friend.

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 09:31 AM

Hey Rollo, how's life treating ya?

Rollo47 05-06-2005 09:34 AM

Not too bad. School is rather stressful, but you get that. Other than that, I'm exactly the same as I always have been. All I do is school, bass, and see my girlfriend.

You?

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 09:36 AM

I'm trying to raise my grades so I can get in the best school in Puerto Rico.

I want a Precision REALLY badly all of a sudden.

I'm in a writer's block.

I am going to an audition tomorrow to possibly play in the Heineken Jazz Fest :thumb:.

Spaceman Spiff 05-06-2005 09:36 AM

I slept in this morning and missed my first class at school. :p

Awesome man, good luck with that.

My grades are actually alright so far this year. I'm on an A, a B, and three C's.

Not great, but much better than last year.

Thunder Fingers 05-06-2005 09:42 AM

errrh.. is it realy possible to get MP3's to follow the line i burn them in?!

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 09:43 AM

I have three A's and two B's. I need atleast a 3.5 average, with an A on math and science to get in. Those are my two B's :upset:...

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 09:44 AM
I'm in a writer's block.
i seem to permanantly have that problem :upset:

PaulSimonon 05-06-2005 09:44 AM

As do I.

I have no idea what a 3.5 is :)

Australian system is very different, I would expect.

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 09:46 AM

3.5 average means you have three A's and two B's. Maybe 4 A's and 1 C.

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 09:47 AM

i sometimes think that i should give up, i just never seem able to write anything. i've come to the conclusion that some people (me!) just aren't meant to be musical :upset:

Rollo47 05-06-2005 09:47 AM

Right. In my part of Australia, we have the TER, which is basically a percentile of you compared to everyone else in the state. The way I'm going, mine should be about...... 85-ish, I think.

Thunder Fingers 05-06-2005 09:47 AM

eeeeeeeeew.... school useless bull****, you will never use technical math in real life...

Rollo47 05-06-2005 09:48 AM

It's true. I'm learning Venn diagrams at the moment, and it's disgustingly easy.

Thunder Fingers 05-06-2005 09:48 AM

:upset: im the bassline maker, i suck at complete songs..:upset:

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 09:48 AM

Eddie: Of course you will. I will name three places:

1) School

2) University

3) Weird game show.

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 09:49 AM

Geometry is the easiest form of math I have yet encountered.

Thunder Fingers 05-06-2005 09:50 AM

^will never be at any of thoose (now i start to keep away from schools that use regular courses..:p only schools i will go to from now are music schools...PURE Music Schools..)

Rollo47 05-06-2005 09:50 AM

Nah, I was never any good at geometry, or trigonometry.

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 09:51 AM
:upset: im the bassline maker, i suck at complete songs..:upset:
i can make a fairly decent riff, but i just don't have it in me to write a whole song....no matter how hard i try i just cant complete ANYTHING....life sucks

Rollo47 05-06-2005 09:51 AM

Man, I don't write songs either, I just write riffs. Ever notice that most of my songs are just a riff with a solo over the top?

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 09:52 AM

Well, atleast you make good music...

Rollo47 05-06-2005 09:54 AM

That's debatable.

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 09:55 AM
Man, I don't write songs either, I just write riffs. Ever notice that most of my songs are just a riff with a solo over the top?
well, my stuff is just a riff, with no solo :upset:

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 09:55 AM

I try to write melodies or grooves, and fail in both.

Oh, how I have ruined this thread :upset:.

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 09:56 AM

ohhh God
i ruined it more!

lets all just wallow in how appaling we are

Rollo47 05-06-2005 09:56 AM

Meh. I'm incredibly unhappy with most of my music. It really gets to me sometimes - music is what I want to do, but I'm barely ever happy with the music that I write.

Thunder Fingers 05-06-2005 09:57 AM

mmmmm.... i dunno... i dont think that people are honest with me when i ask them what they think of my bands songs, so i dunno if im good or not.. we write them togheter, our songs just.... become songs...

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 09:58 AM
Meh. I'm incredibly unhappy with most of my music. It really gets to me sometimes - music is what I want to do, but I'm barely ever happy with the music that I write.
BUT, you have ability, talent. u have the tools u just need to build something!
me, i don't even have the tools or the bloody raw materials

Rollo47 05-06-2005 09:59 AM
BUT, you have ability, talent.
Again, that's debatable. I wouldn't say that I'm really that good at all, I just practice a lot.

Thunder Fingers 05-06-2005 10:00 AM

i think im gonna start doing like geddy lee.... jam for hours, and then sit for days listening for what that is good..

Radiobass81 05-06-2005 10:00 AM

Not to mention, your playing isn't sloppy.

For some reason, after almost two years, I still can't get used to my bass' neck...

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 10:01 AM

i've only been playing bass for less than a year and only seriously for about 6 months but i still get frustrated at my severe lack of talent

Rollo47 05-06-2005 10:02 AM

I've been playing for six years dude, in my opinion, I should be a lot better than I am.

ElKapitan 05-06-2005 10:07 AM

i've been playing guitar for nearly 4 and i really think my left hand technique is FAR too shoddy for that long
